Well...you’re wrong.

Ukraine is pretty big in the scheme of Global Food Production.

30% of the grain that is sold by one nation to another nation comes from Ukraine and Russia through the Black Sea.

May not affect the US much, but will significantly affect those nations that planned to buy Ukrainian and Russian grain.

The bulk of it goes to other nations around the Mediterranean.

Of course the American farmer can make up a large portion of the lost amount if they get the proper season or can water.

But Biden wants them to not plant.

Then you have Bill Gates owning almost quarter million acres of farm land. I doubt he will plant it either

That has to be quite demoralizing, to have a skill so unwanted and devalued by one’s own government, that they will pay you just to sit on your can and stare out the window till your retirement and perhaps beyond.

I would presume most farmers would be rightfully proud of producing a successful crop and harvest. It takes a lot of work to make that happen.

Government has classified them as “non-essential”.

”The bulk of it goes to other nations around the Mediterranean.”

That’s what I would think.

It has little effect on “global” food supply.

We could probably take Ukraine’s place in large part.

It’s always better and easier it such sales are in proximity, but it doesn’t need be.

Thanks. Makes sense.

And Russia export isn’t really hit.

Other countries can sell to replace what Ukraine usually sells.

Except that other countries are having bad harvests recently, also.

And a lot of Russian exports go through the Black Sea.

And maritime insurers aren’t real keen on insuring ships in the Black Sea these days.

I’ll bet China won’t have any grain or for that matter oil shortages from the war in Ukraine.

Prepper Ping - Understanding the role of Ukraine in Food Production, which will affect the price of food, world-wide.
Comments ?
OODA Loop !

DuncanWaring :" 30% of the grain that is sold by one nation to another nation comes from Ukraine and Russia through the Black Sea.
May not affect the US much, but will significantly affect those nations that planned to buy Ukrainian and Russian grain."

RomanSoldier19 : " With wheat already in the ground, and only a few weeks left to plant corn, farmers in Ukraine can’t get needed fertilizers and chemicals.
They are low on fuel for tractors and other farm equipment.
Workers are quitting to join the fight or to leave the country, leaving farms short-handed."

"Mr. Borisov said he and other farmers need to start their corn, sunflower and barley crops in April and May.
That is now in doubt, and the impact on food supplies and prices will be felt world-wide.
With wheat already in the ground, and only a few weeks left to plant corn, farmers in Ukraine can’t get needed fertilizers and chemicals.
They are low on fuel for tractors and other farm equipment.
Workers are quitting to join the fight or to leave the country, leaving farms short-handed."

E. Pluribus Unum : " I have a great idea!
The Klaus-Schwabian government bureaucrats who locked down the entire world are responsible for the supply chain chaos and the food crisis,
but let’s start a war so we can blame everything on Russia!"

My Comment) : Realize that the Ukraine ships grain and its exports via the Black Sea ports ;
any wonder why Russia is cutting Ukraine off from its shipping export seaports that connect to the Mediterranean ?
Also, don't forget that Russia and China have already banned exports of all fertilizers, which will have a direct effect on quantity of food production .
Now, add to that the absurdity of the administration's war on current fossil fuels production, as well as the impact of future investment into fossil fuels,
and you have a brief introduction of future investment into power and fuel chaos which will continue long into the future.
Natural gas and petroleum products are necessary for the production of fertilizers and pesticides, as well as fuel for farming machinery and hardware.
Fertilizers have doubled and tripled currently, and it isn't quite yet the growing season for planting.
So, the academics say that we can convert immediately into the electrical age of batteries.
So, who controls the supply of cobalt, rare earth minerals necessary for electrical production and batteries ? - China !
Enough said !

Most of it was going to Egypt and some other Muslim countries per something I read a few days ago. Turkey? Somalia?

Why worry about agricultural production or fertilizer from Russia or Ukraine? We can go to a grocery store any time we want or order direct from Uber Eats.

Sheesh. This is so simple a Millennial or even an MSNBC analyst could figure it out.
