Lee Zeldin: My Campaign Is a ‘Rescue Mission’; New Yorkers Say, ‘If You Don’t Win, I’m Leaving’
Breitbart ^ | March 19,2022 | ROBERT KRAYCHIK

Posted on 03/19/2022 7:22:32 PM PDT by Hojczyk

He continued, “For us in New York, I feel truly like the state is hitting a breaking point, and I’ve had every single day – every day – I have New Yorkers tell me, ‘If you don’t win, I’m leaving.’ There are days where it happens a dozen times during the day. So I feel like I can effect the change to save this state. As one person said to me — and he was right when he said it — ‘This isn’t some regular campaign. This is a rescue mission.'”

New York lost a higher share of its population to internal migration within the U.S. than any other state, the Daily Gazette reported in December, citing U.S. Census Bureau data. The state “lost more residents than any other state,” it wrote, adding, “New York state’s population is estimated to have declined by 319,020 or 1.6% in the year, the largest numeric and percentage loss of any state.”

The Empire Center also assessed New York’s population decline in December. It wrote, “The Empire State’s July 1, 2020 population of 19,336,776 was down 126,355, or 0.65 percent, from the estimated level of a year earlier, the estimates indicate. In both absolute and percentage terms, New York’s population drop in 2019-20 was the biggest among 16 states.”

Hopefully PA, CT, MA, VT, ON, and QE are the big ‘winners.’

Not just NYC. My home town, Hong Kong, the former greatest City on Earth, lost 70000 people last year.

This is about the state, not the city, but the city probably lost population at a greater rate than the state.

They should realize that while it’s good to vote for the right candidate it means nothing if the voters thmselves do not get involved.

e.g. get on different boards, become unloved in community decision making, run for lesser office, become teachers, church leaders and so on. The right has been much to content with just complaining instead of doing.

Is there a loophole to get out for people of dual background (UK & HK parentage)? Are any of the commonwealth nations open for people looking to leave?

Wouldn’t HK (pre 1997) citizenship qualify one for ‘commonwealth’ citizenship anywhere in the former british empire?

The UK has offered a generous immigration package. It is easy to go there and lots of younger people have. Others went to Canada and the US.But mainly to the UK.

Are the current residents of HK mostly elderly? immigrants from the mainland? some other category?

“Wouldn’t HK (pre 1997) citizenship qualify one for ‘commonwealth’ citizenship anywhere in the former british empire?”

You would think so, but they may be slowly closing that window.

When HK was handed off to China in 97, I would’ve said “eff you, no deal - that arrangement was made with a country (Imperial China) that hasn’t existed for a very long time”.

But the way Int’l law works is that a new country takes over legally where the old one left off, agreement wise.

You come from a fascinating city.

I am saddened for what has happened from China, with it.

From all I’ve seen, it’s beautiful.

It must be tough to leave one’s homeland, where all their memories are - and it’s not like it’s some disaster of a 3rd world country, it’s just that a lot of freedom is going away.

I have a good friend who lives there, I worry that she may say the wrong thing and have problems. Wish she would pack up and get the heck outta Dodge while the gettins good.

I am from Alabama. My wife is Chinese and we lived there 27 years. The two younger daughters were born there.

I hope Led Zeppelin wins but NY elections are corrupt as hell. Don’t be surprised at all if Cuomo runs again and wins.

Yes, but the unfortunate consequence is that other formerly nice places nearby now have more traffic, sprawl, cost of living, and people wondering how many intersectional bipocs can transition genders while on the head of a pin.

Yep, I was telling leftists on Twitter who supported him “I guarantee you 100% he is going to do absolutely NOTHING to reduce crime or improve anything else. Why? Because he’s a DEMOCRAT! You idiots keep voting for DEMOCRATS and what do they do? NOTHING” And here we are nearing April and crime in NYC is worse than ever.

This is a good one I saw tonight... Donations of bullet proof vests for the Ukraine being ripped off.......
