Syrian President Bashar Assad has promised to provide some 40,000 militants to the Russian Federation for the war in Ukraine, The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday afternoon.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, weapons and other equipment will be transferred to Russia and Belarus from Syria in the near future, the statement reported, in addition to as many as 40,000 militants.
A report on March 13 from Ukrainian intelligence indicated that Russia had already opened 14 recruitment centers across Syria, in Damascus, Aleppo, Hamma, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, in order to strengthen its forces.
Russia is reportedly paying foreign mercenaries a monthly salary of between $300-$600 to fight.

Not so hard to accept as Syria and Russia are allies. However Ukraine is already full of a mix of bad guys so adding more to the mix just means they’ll all be shooting each other and then some.

The Goumiers did superbly in breaking the right flank of the German line, across the Liri valley from Cassino, flanking the whole German position. The Moroccans were excellent mountain infantry and experts at infiltration.
The problem of course was exactly as said, they were barbaric and could not behave themselves among civilians. The French used them again in the invasion of Southern France, Operation Anvil, and then they started to replace most of these Colonial troops as fast as they could, sending them home before the winter of 1944-45. New French recruits from liberated France took their place.

If these are simply a group of mercenaries with no unit cohesion and tactics then they will simply lambs to the slaughter.

I know that is what happened in Iraq and ISIS, the CIA and other foreign players sold it to Muslim radicals that Iraq was their opportunity to save their world from the infidel. So, they all went. It’s terrible that the Yazidi people were sacrificed for that. It was evil what was done to them.

There was real talk back then, of backing Russia while Germany was doing well, and when Russia started doing well, maybe you start helping Germany. Keep that ball rolling back and forth until they wipe each other out completely.

The US will retaliate by sending a supply of backhoes to Ukraine for digging 40,000 graves.
Russia is preparing for the very unlikely event they’ll actually have to “take” the cities.
Their plan initial plan appears to be siege/blockade. It will most likely work to drive a surrender on favorable terms.
