I keep seeing stuff like this, without Russian fertilizer the world will starve.

Sounds like an opportunity to me.

Sounds like that farmer needs to buy a Tesla, if high oil prices are giving him trouble.

In the past we might expect a President to lay out the costs associated with this Freedom of Ukraine.

Most of us have a decent understanding of commodities and the ripple effect of large quantities being restricted or banned. We are in unchartered territory for basic staples that will shock the world after harvest this fall.

We’ve been played and those who can take defensive action best, the working man and woman, living paycheck to paycheck, is in for something they wont soon forget. # Freedom

If you’re importing manure, perhaps you should import manure producing animals. They self replicate meaning you only have to import a certain number of them and then they create more of themselves. Now that’s sustainability.

Many small outfits will be plowed under as a result of fuel costs. My family member has a small farm in the midwest. He uses a no-till method and local sources animal fertilizer. They don’t spread the fertilizer willy-nilly but instead it’s placed where the seed will be planted. Modern tech has made those
Giant tractors a modern miracle. It can sense the level of ground moisture and it can tell where that fall fertilizer is, consequently it knows where to deposit the seed at planting time. This method has saved tons of money, but by no means is farming cheap.

They also have to have trucks to deliver the harvest. Right now it’s costing over $1,000.00 to operate that truck for 5 days and that’s just fuel. His personal income from that truck is roughly $200.00. This is why farms and trucks are going under. They have to have an alternate source of income to survive, or the wife needs to become that needed extra employee. Thankfully there’s room to carry a child or two in so.e of these vehicles.

Most of us have NO clue as to what goes into providing food, fuel and delivery of products for us to consume.

We as consumers need to reconsider the difference between need / want, and purchase reusable goods along with the personal skills to maintain those goods. You can’t wait to see what’s in vogue. The decision has to come from within as it affects your personal wallet.

If you have a fat wallet right now, use it to prepare for the belt cinching days. They are coming faster than you think.
