China Signals Disinterest in Providing Weapons to Russia for Brutal Ukraine Campaign
US News and World Report ^ | 14 Mar 2022 | y Paul D. Shinkman

...In an opinion piece posted Monday morning criticizing the Biden administration’s move as “too arrogant,” Chinese commentator Hu Xijin nonetheless offered that, “as a major military industrial power, Russia does not need to ask China to provide substantial military assistance for the limited scale war in Ukraine.”

“Moreover, China is not obligated to promise nor to export arms to Russia,” Hu said in a video circulated by the state-sponsored English-language Global Times, for which he was executive editor until December. Though not a direct mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, the news agency is aligned with its views and seen as an outlet for statements Chinese officials cannot make publicly.

Just pointing out some (among many) points of equipment commonality. I have no idea what Russia has asked for, but there certainly are things China can provide.

The legendary stockpiles of stuff the Soviets accumulated are getting a bit - legendary. All that stuff has a shelf life, and I don’t think either of us knows what state its all in and how much still exists or is still useful. Its been thirty years since the end of the Soviet Union and the massive degradation of its armaments industry. It certainly doesn’t seem like Russia has recovered all that well in this respect.

As in all these things, we will see.

There are maintenance standards for old stuff, the Soviet stuff is pretty much long-lasting.

The point is that we are discussing fake news because both China and Russia denied the talks.

It is basically ridiculous British propaganda, projecting her weaknesses on the Russian military.

Imagine china providing rice buckets for the Russians to eat. Once china takes over Russia the soldiers will be used to eating them.
Besides eating china meals will give the Russians the shits and keep them busy.

China is playing both ends against the middle here. Like Sonny said in Bronx Tale: I pay my men well but not too well.

1. Biden state dept makes up story of china helping russia.

2. China shrugs

3. Biden state dept makes a show of warning China about said help

4. China does what it wants doesnt help Russia, who needs no help from China

5. Biden “stared down China” and is a strong leader, not the feckless pant-crapping fool we know he is.

6. Media cheers

That’s how this propaganda works. We are the originators and targets of this propaganda.

If China were helping the Russians, why would they tell us about it — and undercut their Democrat fellow travelers in the USA?

I would say that it needs to keep it’s reputation relatively
clean until it addresses Taiwan.

That may sound crazy knowing what we do about the Ugers and
other unseemly problems China has with it’s reputation.

The thing is, our media fronts for China a lot. And if China
were to decide to go against our media in the Ukraine, that
might change for the worse, for China’s leaders.

These guys value propaganda, and they’re going to need a
boatload of it when they go after Taiwan.
