On the air of the [Russian] Vremya program on Channel One, one of the employees staged a protest action. She stood behind TV presenter Ekaterina Andreeva and unfolded an anti-war poster with the call: “Stop the war, don’t believe the propaganda, they lie to you here.”

According to preliminary data, Marina Ovsyannikova, who worked as an editor, staged a protest on the air. She was taken to the Ostankino police station.

Marina Ovsyannikova also recorded a video message...

What is happening in Ukraine now is a crime, and Russia is an aggressor country and the responsibility for this aggression lies on the conscience of only one person, and this person is Vladimir Putin.

My father is Ukrainian, my mother is Russian, and they have never been enemies. And this necklace around my neck is a symbol of the fact that Russia must immediately stop the fratricidal war and our fraternal peoples will still be able to reconcile.

Unfortunately, in recent years I have been working on Channel One, doing Kremlin propaganda, and I am now very ashamed of it.

I am ashamed that I was allowed to speak lies from the TV screens, I am ashamed that I was allowed to zombify the Russian people.

We kept silent in 2014, when all this was just beginning, we did not go to rallies when the Kremlin poisoned Navalny.

We just silently watched this anti-human regime and now the whole world has turned its back on us.

And ten more generations of our descendants will not be washed away from the shame of this fratricidal war.

We are Russian people, thinking and smart, it is only in our power to stop all this madness.

Come out to rallies, don't be afraid of anything, they can't jail us all.

You say, “Propaganda is being bantered around on both sides. For all I know, she is not aware of what is really happening in Ukraine.” That is almost certainly true. All wars bring forth lies from all sides.

However, Russia invaded a sovereign nation on the order of Vladimir Putin. That is not in dispute. And that is precisely the problem.

I would think Marina would pretty much have access to all news sources around the globe to at least get a picture.

In other news, the UN just ruled that the US was not properly formed because John Hancock signed in blue ink and the fine print said to sign in black ink only.

Putin has stated many times that Ukraine is an illigimate nation and that Ukrainians are a Slavic untermensch. He fully intends to dismember the country and liquidate their unauthentic Slavic culture if possible. Once that is accompolished he will have the lebensraum he desires for Russia.

It is indeed sad to see those who sit comfortably in their armchairs condone this Putinst mass murder. Putin’s bombs and ballistic missiles won’t be raining of them tonight so this is just a geopolitical parlor game to them.

P.s Ozzie Hater, the post you copied and posted highlighted the fact that I am conservative through and through. On any hot button issue I am on the conservative side. I am however not on the side of bullhorning western governments, and my own in particular, into a war frenzy over 2 slavic countries at odds with each other on the otherbside of the world. Enough aussie blood has been spilled in following Uncle Sam into useless wars like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. You want to see Americans come home in body bags over Ukraine so soon after the Afghan fiasco go for it.

That’s a very good point and Americans have to come to grips with their mindless hatred of Russia and treating war as a sports competition in which we have to ‘choose a side’. If we do not support US involvement in Ukraine, that does not automatically equate to support of Putin, support of Russia.

But, mindnumbed sports aficionados think everything is a competition with a winner and a loser, and can’t help but act like NPC’s showing blind support to a corrupt nation such as Ukraine. It gets even worse when the propaganda points out individual deaths of ‘pregnant woman’ or ‘UNICORN PAJAMAS GIRL’. People completely lose all cognitive reasoning abilities and it’s so very pathetic.

I keep asking and not getting answers, how many of the wars of America in the last 75 years have the Russians stopped? Why is the United States the sole arbiter of what is and is not a ‘good war’, or an acceptable war? Who the hell are we to tell Russia they aren’t allowed to pursue their own interests?

They can’t jail us all….

Well, if they shoot the folks from the previous protest, they have plenty of room.

But did Putin have legitimate reasons for doing so? I think Ukraine having bio-labs funded and installed by the U.S. may be reason enough, in my opinion.

Were you even aware that our tax dollars were being used for this? Especially after having experienced a plandemic, where all fingers point in China's direction at the Wuhan Laboratory as the point of origin, and was funded to do gain-of-research by our very own government. When are you going to wake up and see what is really going on?

If the president of the U.S. found out that Mexico, or Canada, had bio-labs funded and installed by Russia or even China, and decided to invade, would you say our president invaded either of those countries, or would you say that the president did what was necessary, to remove danger from our border countries?

Since when did you start believing the news media, or have you always believed everything they spewed forth?

There has already been several claims made by our media, to find out that they were staged productions, or were scenes from a video game, or were even CGI productions that were in previous movies that have played in theaters. So, get off your high horse and decide if Ukraine is really deserving of our treasury, or even one drop of blood of our military men & women being being spilled.

This is nothing more than a continuation to remove Putin, but are you really ready to have this war widen significantly with either US or NATO involvement? Because that is what we are heading for with your misguided emotional concern. War is horrible, and should be avoided until there are no options left to chose from.

Our leaders are all for protecting the borders of other countries, but couldn't care less about the sanctity of our borders?

You allow your emotions to control your response to world events, rather than thinking it through entirely, and that is exactly the point of propaganda, and you are falling for it, hook, line and sinker.

“But did Putin have legitimate reasons for doing so? I think Ukraine having bio-labs funded and installed by the U.S. may be reason enough, in my opinion. “

Putin was very clear why he was invading and biolabs were never on any list or mentioned as a reason. So you clearly didn’t think things through and fell for propaganda. But the funniest part is you lecturing others to do and not do those things.

Oh please! Mr. Putin (for you are channeling him), leader of Russia, is war the only way to solve such a problem? War on the nation that walked through such horrors as two world wars with you? War on the nation you claim you want to unite with as Slavic brethren? War on a nation that as your grandfather cooked for him, Stalin nearly starved to death? War on a nation so intermarried with your own Russian people that a huge percentage of your citizens are blood relatives of Ukraine? War?

As I said, Putin instigated invasion of a sovereign nation. That is the simple truth. Yes, I’m sure he had his reasons. I’m sure Ukraine’s leaders are not innocent. I’m sure American politics is much to blame, and many American leaders far from guiltless. But war, and the death of so many innocents? Really?
