Putin’s invasion of Ukraine will knock 30 years of progress off the Russian economy

Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war on Ukraine and the resulting global response will set Russia’s economy back by at least 30 years — close to old Soviet Union times — and lower its standard of living for at least the next five years, according to economists, investors and diplomats.

The sweeping Western sanctions are designed to inflict maximum pain on the country’s economy by expelling it from global markets and freezing assets around the world. From the moment they took effect three weeks ago, the sanctions have opened a new chapter in Russia’s economic history.

The whole “Russia is scared, scarrry Nato will invade the motherland...” is such uttter tripe and garbage. It was the Soviets/Russians who invaded, enslaved formerly free countries at the end of WWII. These scumbags have incredible gall to act like the aggrieved ones.

NATO expanded from 12 nations to 30 nations, arriving at Russia’s doorstep in the Ukraine in 2014. Despite numerous warnings, Obama/Biden, Biden/Harris continued the provocation with the final insult of Clown Zelenskyy prancing around like a Draq Queen. I’d do everything I could to keep that kind of leftist democracy out of my country too.

How many years has ours been set back?

Wow. An interesting question. I'll have to think about the economy setback, but the international status of the US we can guess.. at best US stays on as one of the competing great powers with economy inferior to China's.... that means setback of about 100 years.

Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war on Ukraine and the resulting global response will set Russia’s economy back by at least 30 years

Russia does not live in isolation.

What did Trump tell us:

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/markets-by-sector/energy/trump-warned-nato-on-europes-reliance-on-russian-energy/

Everyone criticized Trump for condemning his NATO allies in 2018. At the time, only five nations were meeting their 2% GDP spending requirement on NATO defense, with the US paying around 5%. Trump suggested that everyone contribute 4% to build a stronger alliance. He never wanted to back away from NATO to support Putin, rather, he wanted to back away from NATO because he felt the US had been taken advantage of by its European allies.

Trump called Ukraine the wall between Russia and Europe and stated that America had become the “sucker country” by shelling out millions to Ukraine when they received far less in return. He warned Europe that their reliance on Russian imported energy would spell disaster and went as far as declaring that Germany was “totally controlled by Russia.” Instead of looking for energy alternatives, Germany went through with the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline and wasted billions as sanctions were implemented before the pipeline was fully functional.

Western world leaders failed us by using Russia as the easy solution for energy while simultaneously failing to have any diplomatic relationships with the country. The energy crisis was preventable.

Putin plans on destroying Ukraine as a nation and stealing their land. That land is worth trillions.

Not to be outdone, Anthony Fauci set the trust in “science” and medicine back 40+ years due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, restrictions and other fraudulent claims made by the media, Government, Big Pharma and “Science.”

However ill-advised it may seem to us, I’m certain that Putin’s initial cost/benefit analysis told him differently. Now that he’s committed, the dynamic scoring on that has changed significantly.

How this plays out is anyone’s guess. One thing is certain, nobody is going to win.

Like all Neocons, you have no argument for placing the Ukraine ahead of American interests. Please leave the #MAGA reservation and report immediately to your nearest GOPe headquarters. They are in need of a low IQ coffee boy.

China will win vis-a-vis Russia!

Russia will weaken and its hold on its Far East will be loosened.

Personally, I think he's sick and possibly dying (isolation, swollen face, reports of illness last year where he kept one hand hidden in his public appearances), and psychological things come with that. Maybe he feels this is his last chance to unite the ancient Russian - his words - and create the legacy he feels is his, or maybe he's angry and wants the world to burn and he is in a position to make it happen. I don't claim any esoteric knowledge like some posters do, but just an impression or a feeling.
