This attack near the border of Poland was probably against a location where weapons and munitions, flowing in from Poland, were being stockpiled.
The Russians are not stupid or blind. They know munitions are arriving from Poland.
It makes sense to blow them up before they are used against Russian forces.

Well maybe. The Ukrainians are putting up a stiffer, more effective resistance than anyone (?) anticipated. Drones, ATGMs seem to be making a real difference. The vaunted, feared Russian army is stumbling badly. So many seemingly minor issues and problems (*) all add up to a very expensive and in-efficient advance. But in the end, size matters. The Russians probably will, at great cost, get to a point where they can claim some kind of victory.
(*) For example, the other day I saw footage of a Russian unit inserted by chopper. I'm not a grunt, never have been, but I know just enough to know what I saw was concerning (for the Russians). One of their better air-mobile units... At the LZ the guys were slow disembarking into an unsecured LZ. I'm an old guy, and I'd move faster than that. There were guys set up to provide cover fire, and their own men running right in front of them, right through their line of fire! Fortunately for them the Ukrainians were not engaging, because these guys would've shoot off the feet of several guys. Then they were clustering in the open, when there was good cover/concealment just a few yards away. Where are the non-comms, the NCOs kicking ass and getting them to shape up? I know a couple of Chiefs who would've positively vapor-locked at such a display.
