UN holds biodiversity talks on deal to stave off mass extinction

Paris (AFP) – Global efforts to cut plastic and agricultural pollution, protect a third of wild spaces, and ultimately live "in harmony with nature" will dominate UN biodiversity negotiations starting Monday, held in person after a two-year pandemic delay.

Almost 200 countries are due to adopt a global framework this year to safeguard nature by mid-century from the destruction wrought by humanity, with a key milestone of 30 percent protected by 2030.

The aim is also to safeguard the "services" nature supplies: the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil that yields the food we eat.

The meeting in Geneva will set the stage for a crucial UN biodiversity summit, initially due to be held in China in 2020 and postponed several times. It is now expected to take place at the end of August.

Geneva is a chance to strengthen a draft global biodiversity agreement "that many observers feel currently lacks the teeth needed to meaningfully address interconnected biodiversity and climate crises that cannot be solved in isolation", according to the Nature Conservancy.

Campaigners have for years called for a deal on halting biodiversity loss similar to what the Paris Agreement outlined for the climate.

Is this the plan where governments take land and we all have to live in cities?

Yes, it is about revoking property rights.

Just as the left insists we need the EPA because individual states’ own environmental agencies do things differently from each other, they will insist we have a global EPA to ensure every nation comply with the edicts of their global overlords.

Check out the red zones. "Little to no human use" and yellow, "Highly Regulated". Not much for cities and "normal use". This was in the 80s and obviously never happened but the UN never gives up. Agenda 21 merely became Agenda 2030. Mass extinction? More like mass genocide to get to the population for something like this. Just a few more viruses or maybe that mass cyberattack that kills the entire internet and lasts for weeks.

These are the same people who forced us into all the plastic crap because we had to save the trees and the planet. Do not listen to them. They are idiots.

True that. The seem bent on WWIII.
A saw Tulsi Gabbard on Tucker (clip on FR) and she was stating concern of biological release and another pandemic.
She’s a Klaus Schwab WEF “Young Leader”.
They like stating their madness before it occurs.

I couldn’t imagine sitting thru their talks, meetings, and endless conferences knowing full well the real decisions are made at their private parties and secret dinners.

Plus we’ve got something like 20x the US Vietnam War deaths already racked up in this one.

There are numerous websites that show the organizations actively working toward achieving the goal as set out in The Wildlands Project, a brainchild of Dave Foreman of Earth 1st and others. The Wildlands Network has a map on their website showing the “wildways” desired for wolves, bears and other long-ranging animals – many of which are being “reintroduced” into areas that conflict with where people live, work and play. The idea, however, is to move the people into “sustainable communities” – ie “pack ’em and stack ’em” cities and out of the rural areas.

One needs only to see the myriad of rules, regulations and the agencies promulgating them to get the idea that “something is drastically wrong”. No longer do individuals seem to have a voice – meetings are held by the dozens, with presentations made and little, if any, opportunity for people to voice their dissent. Rather, a new methodology is being used – called “consensus” – where the predetermined outcomes are already set, and meetings are nothing more than a meager play at something slightly resembling information. The plans have already been set; it’s just a matter of “telling” the people what is planned for them.

In Washington State, we’ve seen the implemention in the growth management act, critical areas ordinances, wetland designations, “planning”, so many “studies” costing so much money that it’s impossible to keep track of them all.

Over the years, more and more land has either been bought outright by government entities, or regulated to the point that it’s difficult to do anything with it other than what is “allowed” by the various government agencies – and then only when fees and/or taxes are paid for the honor.

The Book of Revelation tells them all they need to know about mass extinction and their inability to have any control over it.

and ultimately live "in harmony with nature"

LOL! Nature frequently kicks our butt. How does one live in harmony with that?

If we keep this lunatic approach to sequestering carbon, nature stands ready to allow a massive die off of plant life. How does the world end, how does the world end? Not with a wimper but with a gasp.

key milestone of 30 percent protected by 2030

______________

Basically third of the Earth will be out of any human use.
I bet they target the USA. We will have to put at least half of the USA, so the Chinese and Indians could use more of their land.
They have no enough of the global warming garbage, now they want to make the land which is not covered by solar cells a protected wilderness. People will be stuck Soviet style blocks in megacities.
