Ukraine has a long land border with Russia.
Taipei: Taiwan's military strategists have been studying Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the country's resistance, for the island's own battle strategy in the event its giant neighbour China ever makes good on its threat to take them by force. While Taiwan's government has not reported any unusual activity by the military in China, which views the island as its own territory, Taipei has raised its alert level. Russia's use of precision missiles, as well as Ukraine's tactically well thought through resistance despite being outmanned and outgunned, are being carefully watched in security circles in Taiwan, whose own forces are likewise dwarfed by China's.

Taiwan better be taking notes, because we sure as Hell know China is.
Give every person a good rifle and train them in marksmanship and sniper techniques. Make sure there is a rifle behind every blade of grass.

China will have to take control of critical facilities. Most likely they’ll use helicopters to insert troops.
Taiwan should start stockpiling manpads, training people and be on the alert for an first attempt.
There is a lot of debate about whether and to what extent (non nuclear) EMP actually works, but if the Chinese has a way to do it, I would expect that to be their first move.
If it failed they could always stop operations at that point.
First China has to pry its troops from the arms of their mothers.
Better have plenty of good surface to air missiles, train every able body to use one…plus rifle and ammo for every able body…
They will just surrender. They know they aren’t getting any support from US now.

The chinese will send a sampan navy with 10million “internal migration” civilians armed with CNN uplinks, cameras, and bullhorns. When they get mowed down by our side, the resulting negative PR will be amplified by the chinese knocking out 2 of our aircraft carriers in the blockade with their hypersonic ICBM thermally guided antiship missiles.
America will luze stomach for the fight over what it already calls an internal province of China. Taiwan has never declared independence.
About a third of civilians in Taiwan are ethnic Chinese and maybe only half of them have loyalties and fifth column tendencies towards communist China. They have hundreds of thousands of cargo ships they can fill with civilians armed with cameras, CNN uplinks, and bullhorns.
The resultant slaughter will be live on CNN and the PR backlash will be enough to let China walk right back into their own internal (never did declare independence) province. If we blockade them, they’ll lob thermal-capable antiship ICBM missiles at our aircraft carriers and CNN will record them sinking to the bottom of the sea with the resultant nuclear plume.
America will luze stomach for the fight after luzing a couple $Trillion in carriers and tens of thousands of men in one afternoon, all seen on CNN, with our recourse being... to slaughter civilians. China has all the cards, they just have to lay them down on the table at this point.
And when it’s all over but the shouting, the RINOs and GOPes and democraps will be handwringing, hoping for a quick way to order chinese chips & electronics from Amazon. The chinese want the continued business of globalists so it’ll all be “can’t we just get along” and “water under the bridge” as soon as China is in charge and chips are shipping.
If China is to invade Taiwan, they have to really start massing troops and military hardware in Fujian Province in a big, big, way. That hasn’t happened, yet. And they would immediately close off Fuzhou and Xiamen to foreigners, too.
China would be more ruthless than Russia if need be. They don’t to worry about the media and all that sanctions stuff. They are on the same team
They WILL GET HELP—From Japan. Still, I wonder if Russia will help counter Japan if China Moves on Taiwan?
Taiwan has developed a very nice country and stable society. But they are still chinese, confucian in their outlook and also modern day progressives-socialist. They control guns very strictly.
I've been told they have a program where retired army will be given rifles in the event of conflict, but I don't know details.
but they certainly are not taking the Swiss approach of sending every man home, after his military service, with a rifle, ammo and a locker. They should.
If they have not taken the Swiss approach, then they deserve a Darwin Award
China will just offer to buy Taiwan with our money. The other option on the table is being destroyed Ukraine style. They’ll take the cash.
