Every guy knows it: To call someone a pussy as an insult is reserved for male-to-male denigration. And it has nothing to do with misogyny.
It has to do with the history of the term and what it represents.
A woman can, with a straight face and no hatred or dislike of her fellow females, call a man a pussy, and nothing cuts deeper. And she knows it.
It simply signifies “no stones” and all that comes from that.
Most guys know this. You can be called everything from a jackass to an ignoramus, but...being called a pussy is as close to fighting words as you can get.

Wow, Naomi Wolfe has come a long way.
I've resisted, I've defied. I've spoken to those who will listen.
At the risk of sounding presumptuous, my conscience is clear.
In the early days of Covid, I would tell the groups I was associated with what was really going on; of course, everyone gave me the condescending looks of a sad victim of conspiracy theories. Now that EVERYTHING I said has been borne out, not a single person has come forward to say, "Hey, you were right about xyz!" No. I understand people don't remember what you say; they only remember how you made them feel. So, it doesn't shock me that they still see me as a pathetic lunatic.
I'm old, I'll be dead soon in any case so I'm not expecting validation. I'll just go on with whatever's left of my life.
Nonetheless, my conscience is clear.
At some point reality catches up. While I’m sure we will fight the old battles with Naomi again, at least they will be honest. But all of us need to win the battle against deception and lies first. Leave no one alone who is realizing this.
