U.S. officials have begun gathering information to help determine whether Russia has committed war crimes during its invasion of Ukraine, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said on Monday.
"We are collecting evidence of possible war crimes, human rights abuses, and violations of international humanitarian law. We support accountability using every tool available, including criminal prosecutions where appropriate," the official said.
Russian military forces have been attacking civilian targets in Ukraine and Ukraine's nuclear power plant facilities since embarking on a war two weeks ago.

Rush always said that war is about breaking things and killing people. Looks to me like that’s what’s going on there.
Be interesting to see if Russia and China counter by investigating US war crimes in Iraq, Somalia, etc. etc.

U.S. officials complaining about another country committing “war crimes” is a joke. They need to go back to using drones to blow up weddings or cars full of kids.

I don’t know if Russia is committing war crimes, but Ukraine sure is. They release the videos they make of captured POWs.

There is no doubt that Putin’s catastrophic, bad decision to invade Ukraine and the his conduct attacking civilians and wanton destruction during this needless war rises to the level of war crimes. IMHO the Russian people themselves, the Russian military and the Russian political infrastructure will depose him soon. He has brought great harm to his country. Any progress made over the past thirty leading Russia out of the depravity of nearly ninety years of vile, murderous communism has been largely negated. Putin deserves to be punished.
Yet it may be wise to give a desperate man with his hand on nuclear weapons an exit strategy.
When does the collecting of evidence start for the crimes committed in the name of COVID for the last two years on the people of the Western nations?
The biggest crime against humanity was covid and covid clot shots. The ruling elites are still killing people with them and many more will die as a result, yet nobody does anything to put a stop to it.
I bet dementia Joe’s had Russia on double secret probation all this time!
It would also be interesting if they discuss it with Americans and American Servicemen Biden and Democrats abandoned in Afghanistan, and everywhere else around the globe.
Seems like these people need a court date for crimes against humanity.
