Most here who have researched the background agree with you. During the Cold War, the Soviets* and the US had red lines, and other than the Soviets crossing ours with Cuba, things stayed peaceful in Europe, at least. Ukraine was a Russian red line and that was as true with Yeltsin as it is with Putin.
*the Soviets told us that letting Finland or Austria join NATO was an act of war, so it was never considered, and both countries were left alone by the Soviets to prosper.

Zalensky is much, much better a leader for his country than the stooge we have in the WH is for our country. And all the scandal exposed in Ukraine is nothing compared to our Washington establishment. When we look down on the Ukes it is a matter of the pot calling kettle black!!
