U.S. and allies quietly prepare for a Ukrainian government-in-exile and a long insurgency
The Washington Post ^ | March 5, 2022 | Shane Harris

The Ukrainian military has mounted an unexpectedly fierce defense against invading Russian forces, which have been dogged by logistical problems and flagging morale. But the war is barely two weeks old, and in Washington and European capitals, officials anticipate that the Russian military will reverse its early losses, setting the stage for a long, bloody insurgency.

The ways that Western countries would support a Ukrainian resistance are beginning to take shape. Officials have been reluctant to discuss detailed plans, since they’re premised on a Russian military victory that, however likely, hasn’t happened yet. But as a first step, Ukraine’s allies are planning for how to help establish and support a government-in-exile, which could direct guerrilla operations against Russian occupiers, according to several U.S. and European officials.

Are they preparing for part of the delivered weapons to get back near the major airports in the US and major insurgency all around Latin America, further disrupting the supply chains?

I’ve got a great idea. Have everyone in the world send advanced weapons so Russia gets them in about two weeks.

I can just see it all now, a long drawn out ‘insurgency’ is great for business for all the usual corrupt players; establishment politicians, crony corpos, legacy media.

Then in a few years when Trump is back in power and shuts it all down, they will howl how he is a Russian asset and letting Russia get away with taking Ukraine...

Ukraine’s government has been in exile since 2014.

You would think that Conservative, Inc.’s dismal record of 31 years of lost wars would give the Bidenistas a strong sense of skepticism.

For whatever reason Bidenistas want to take sides in a Slavic civil war overseas 5000 miles away while the Biden Regime is choking us out here.

These Uniparty propagandists are either evil liars or almost too stupid to breathe.

Washington post signals defeat...spit

Social media is too busy deplatforming Russian accounts while allowing only the Ukrainian position to be amplified. "We're winning but please send us tanks and planes! And if you can shoot a gun, we'll give you one!"

When only the losses of one side are considered newsworthy, it's easy to think the other side is winning.

In truth, Twitter is going to have a meltdown in the coming weeks. The bulk of the Ukranian army, which has been stationed on the east fighting the DPR/LPR breakaway factions since 2014, is facing total annihilation. They'll be surrounded in the Donbas kessel, cut off, and wiped out after which the Russian army will regroup and take Kiev from the south.

And all those airplanes we're sending them? The Russians will crater every useable airfield in Ukraine, leaving only NATO bases from which they can operate.

The Washington Post is wise to concede defeat. The real world is a different one from what you see on Twitter.

So another Cold War?

This time our leaders are weak and two faced. It probably won’t end well.

Built in excuse for the Deep State when everything goes down the drain. But if anyone protests, they're giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

So take your medicine and shut up.

By not coming to terms already, the best Zelenskiy can hope for is territory west of the Dnieper River.

Even more tragic, He may lose the entire coastline of Ukraine by playing the foolish hero and letting tens of thousand of Ukrainians suffer.

He won't be missing even on meal in the process, while his folks (now many are refugees) are lucky to get a meal while running for their lives.

Brandon has been working hand in glove with Putinist Russia on the new Iran deal. The Russian negotiator gave an interview stating that they got a great deal. The pesky Ukrainians are getting in the way of that.

So is your wife Russian or ethnic Russian from Ukraine? How about some truth in advertising?

Bottom line is people like you don’t care how many Ukrainians Putin murders. In for a penny in for a pound. We use to stand against such things. Apparently, no longer. What a sad end for conservativism.

What sort of Russian dream world is that map from? They control less than quarter of the land in red there.

Is that the map fo where Russia was meant to be by now? If so it shows what a disaster the invasion has been.

So is your wife Russian or ethnic Russian from Ukraine? How about some truth in advertising?

Since you asked, I'll tell you. Her mother is Russian, father Ukrainian. She identifies as Russian and speaks Russian. She was born and raised in Luhansk Oblast. Interesting fact, when I traveled there to get married in 2005, the rule was that Ukrainian was the official language. Russian speakers in the east felt this was a slap in the face. They didn't speak Ukrainian yet the entire country was fluent in Russian. Viktor Yanukovich changed this and made both languages official languages.

We use to stand against such things. Apparently, no longer. What a sad end for conservativism.

Remember when we bombed Serbia so that Kosovo could achieve the same independence that Luhansk and Donetsk is now asking for? And I'm old enough to remember the Polish Solidarity movement of the early 1980s. Did Reagan send troops to Poland? Nope. He sent the resistance a whopping $2 million a year, funneled through various 3rd parties, the equivalent of "thought and prayers" and nothing more.

I've been to Ukraine. It's not worth WWIII.
