Queen leaves Buckingham Palace for good and will now permanently 'work from home' at Windsor Castle - where she had lived with Prince Philip until his death

The Queen has decided to make Windsor Castle her permanent home and main residence, it was reported last night.

It is understood the 95-year-old monarch will never fully return to Buckingham Palace, where she is not believed to have spent a night since March 2020.

She is instead opting for more of a 'work from home' approach to engagements, and is expected to meet dignitaries and officials at her Berkshire home.

It is believed courtiers are also keen to cut down on The Queen's travel, after she admitted to feeling frail by joking 'as you can see, I can't move' during a recent engagement with two Defence Services Secretaries.

The Queen spent much of lockdown at Windsor with Prince Philip until his death in April last year - with sources saying the couple 'rediscovered the happiness of their early years together' while only being attended to by a skeleton staff.

I asked for a castle at Windsor. I got declined but they gave me a nice display case at the end of the aisle.

She must really think her son is either incompetent, dangerous, or both to be hanging on to the throne for so long.

No, I don’t think so. I think it goes back to her pledge when she ascended the throne. She pledge that the whole of her life, long or short, will be in service to her people. It has turned out to be a long life. She is still competent herself and probably sees no reason to quit. To do so would be serving her own interests and not those of her people.

Elizabeth the Second has been on the public scene since well before WWII. She is a figurehead of the British government, but also a rallying point of pride and determination for most of her worldwide subjects.

When the Queen passes, her village idiot son will make a sorry replacement. No, Charles will not abdicate in favor of William. He's waited too long for his chance to have the crown crammed around his taxicab-door ears.

God bless the Queen. She seems like a really sincere person. And, imagine the history she has seen first-hand and all the people she has met,
