Blinken says NATO ‘ready’ for war as US embassy accuses Russia of war crime

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday that the NATO alliance is “ready” for conflict with Russia if necessary after the US Embassy in Ukraine accused Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday of committing a war crime by ordering an attack on Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
“Ours is a defensive alliance,” Blinken said prior to a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels. “We seek no conflict. But if conflict comes to us, we are ready for it, and we will defend every inch of NATO territory.”

Old news. The plant was under Russian control for some time. Some arseholes opened fire on their patrol from the office building nearby and then set the building on fire. Others filmed the smoke and peddled it online as “station on fire”.

Ukraine is not part of NATO, so these are just more empty words. The real problem is that nuclear power plant. From what I have seen in the media (totally unreliable I know) it powers a good portion of Europe and is now in Russia's hands. That is serious leverage. Seems like Russia has them by the short hairs.

No, I don’t think so. Just a few days ago EU was boasting that they were working on connecting the Ukrainian electricity grid to the grid of some EU countries. But I haven’t checked.
