Russian propaganda efforts have redoubled since Putin launched its aggression against Ukraine a week ago. Suddenly, a host of stories has appeared in conservative media that try to rally support for Vladimir Putin because he is allegedly fighting Nazis and the New Word Order in Ukraine. One of the worst examples is, perhaps, the Gateway Pundit, which has been duped into publishing stories by one Larry Johnson, whose only focus is the glorification of Russia and the smearing of Ukraine as a nation of Nazis.
We could respond by advising Russia and its advocates to worry about their own neo-Nazi infestation, but since this smear has now become widespread, it is prudent to address it.
The Nazi smear is a twisted but effective technique used by Russian propaganda and our left-wing media in equal abundance. Russia has been doing it since Stalin made it "a thing." This smear is effective because its victims try to distance themselves from one another and sometimes join in accusations, hoping others won't think of them as Nazis. It's also effective because it's extremely dirty. Trying to debunk it makes one dive deep into repulsive dirt.
Remember how Trump was smeared over Charlottesville — where did those Neo-Nazis even come from? Remember Nick Sandmann? Remember how Kyle Rittenhouse "became" a neo-Nazi for shooting at violent thugs in self-defense? Of course you do. But somehow no one remembers it when exactly the same technique is used on Ukraine.

Yes, there are Neo-Nazis in Ukraine, as they are in the USA, and in most countries. Few and far in between. There are also Communists there and some corrupted, mostly former, politicians. Biden and Soros used to be having influence over there.
However, almost all Ukrainians are nice, carrying, honest, hard working people, who just want to be left alone.
Pres. Zelensky is working hard to get rid of the corruption and excesses. That’s why they want to kill him!
Letting poor people of Ukraine be destroyed, because of some past sins, seems to be inhumane and heartless to me.

Why is it so difficult to believe there are neo-nazis in Ukraine? They’ve been there for years. The Bellingcat website has done exhaustive investigative reports going back years to document the Azov Battalion. Why are people trying to erase facts?

Zelensky isn’t the issue. He could be an all out communist, globalist, nationalist, whatever. Russia still has no right to use violence and armed forces to invade a neighboring country regardless of what they think of Ukraine’s government.
Poroshenko was a monster. Ukraine is in the shitter, in the most miserable way. And corruption has made what was once the wealthiest Republic of the Warsaw Pact into the poorest, with 1/4 to 1/10 the wealth of most other nations. And for the purpose of reforming our own foreign policies, it’s helpful to remember that.
If acknowledging those facts justify Russia attacking Zelenskyy’s administration in any way, shape, or form, you are a dangerous, psychopathic lunatic.

The Deep State is counting on the fact that no one will remember that AzoV was on the State Department’s list of TERRORIST organizations long before the war started (I think they got removed as part of the propaganda push). So, more disinformation here. Nothing new.

I came across a link the other day to a thread on a Reddit AntiFa sub, and the thread was typical Bash-the-Fash about the Azov battalion. This was from 2-3 years ago.
