A Russian column was obliterated and corpses were seen lying beside the road. The remains of the Russian military convoy blocked a street in the town of Bucha after the ambush - said to have been carried out by troops armed with NLAW missile launchers.
Artillery and drone strikes are also thought to have been deployed in the attack. Locals civilians are also reported to have helped fight the invaders by throwing petrol bombs.
Ever since the advent of mechanized warfare, that has been the case.
No. Lies and error have no place on a conservative forum. And Truth is under no obligation to entertain such.
They were cozying up to the EU for a long time. Putin warned them over and over. This isn’t the only reason, but Russia have them many chances to back down. They chose to keep poking the bear.
You sound like you got a problem with others having rights. But you forgot the “Liberty of bearing arms”.
Whyzat?
There’s a big “DeNazification-and-DeMilitarization” operation going on in Ukraine right now. Why don’t YOU go over there now and help them out?
Except, many here won’t accept truth and deny reality.
It actually looks like the Ukrainians had blockaded the road.
And, they stiffed him on a couple billion while getting the money on the other end from Germany.
Note to Ukraine: When taking a crap on someone’s front porch, and ringing the doorbell, make sure you leave the car running.
When the soldier pulls the trigger, the headlights come on.
Ukrainians were only allowed to have guns for hunting...but that changed VERY recently.
And if he loses this thing he’ll be very Sadimir?
“The Russians are violating all small unit level tactics rules. I’m talking basic soldiering concepts one learns in basic combat training.”
The Ukrainians are going to have several victories, however I personally think the final result will be a pyrrhic one. When we see the Russians being blooded because of old outdated war tactics it provides some cheer, but meanwhile their country is being bombed into the stone age.
The more Putin gets angry about the loses the more pain he will soon inflict on the infrastructure. He already is launching the largest air assault of the war regardless of civilian casualties.
But you go ahead and spend time crafting a lucid, witty response. I won't read it. You have me confused with someone who cares what you think.
And, just because you own a gun does not make you conservative. It just means another liberal has been armed.
Haven’t you gotten the message? Kiev is the way that Russians spell it. The Ukrainian’s now spell it Kyiv.
By the way, the Russians pronounce the city “Kee-ev”
While the Ukraine’s pronounce it “Kee-iv”
It is pronounced with two vowels, not with one, like the way the imbeciles on MSNBC pronounce it (”Keev”).
You can't blame every Ukrainian for Vindman. He alone is responsible for his treachery, done at the behest of deep state American leftists.
You mean Libertarians who want military as the sole federal function?
I keep reading claims of “Putin supporters” here on FR but I sure as heck don’t see any posts from anyone supporting him. The opposite is true.
Why are you making such a claim?
“You are another chicken who wants to appear to be for self determination but not willing to go to someone else’s war for it.”
Really? Yet I went to Baghdad in 2014-2015 and helped defend against ISIS while demoralized defeatists were proclaiming the US Ambassador was going to be “decapitated by ISIS on live TV any day now”.
I already Been there and the ‘Tyrants-who-compel-others-to-live-as-they-tell-them-to’ lost.
I don’t need your approval to speak my mind.
So why don’t YOU go to Kharkiv and help ‘demilitarize and de-nazify’ the natives?
He knew from the beginning that this war would be won by demolishing Ukraine from the air. He knows that from Serbia 1999 at the very least. But he had to make a show of "peaceful" occupation first with some tank fodder.
Raise your hand if you can identify any of those vehicles. Are they Russian or Ukrainian because I cannot.
If the countryside is impassable there may be no alternative. In much of Ukraine right now it is deep mud off the roads, which is typical of the region and was very significant in WW2. If they get a freeze that may change.
This mud problem was not limited to Eastern Europe. That convoy thing was also present in Operation Market Garden in 1944. The British could not operate off road on the muddy Dutch fields, so the long, long convoy had to face many roadblocks head on, and was counterattacked and ambushed over and over. Thats one reason why they were late getting to Arnhem, the “Bridge Too Far”.
