Why would Putin have waited for a second term, when President Trump was besieged with false allegations of Russian collusion from before he was even elected, under investigation by a special prosecutor, constantly attacked by the press and Democrats over other fake allegations, along with two phony impeachments during his first term. If anything, had Putin wanted to invade Ukraine, he should have done it during those four years, or immediately after the 2020 election was stolen. The first term would have been the best time for Putin to make his move. Comey used the early days of the Administration to make his move on Michael Flynn over Russian collusion, why wouldn’t Putin have done the same?
He’s been exposed as a massive neocon for decades now, and he also stabbed Trump in the back after Trump took him into his admin.
But yeah, his early actions got lots of conservatives on his side back in the day.

1. Work as a "national security expert" for a GOP administration.
2. Push the U.S. into a war.
3. Leave the administration and go to work for a think tank or lobbying firm that gets paid handsomely by the foreign interests and global corporations that were pushing for the war you helped get the U.S. into.
4. Go back to #1 and start the cycle all over again.
