Russian President Vladimir Putin skewered the leadership of Ukraine and the West in a speech Monday night, in which he gave his most aggressive remarks yet on the brewing conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.

Putin delivered nearly an hour-long speech lobbing allegations of foreign meddling in Ukraine against the west and reiterating accusations of oppression of ethnic Russians by the government of Ukraine. He called Ukraine a puppet state of the United States and officially recognized two separatist groups in eastern Ukraine as independent states.

The Russian president began the speech with a history lesson, in which he argued that Ukraine has always truly been a part of Russia that was “given away” by communists running the Soviet Union.

That is it exactly.

Yet nobody seems or cares to realize that.

He wants to install the old czar system and be the controller behind the scenes.

The point is, this sounds almost exactly like the litany of complaints levelled against the Treaty of Versailles after WWI, and the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian Empire into a bunch of new independent States, like Czechoslovakia.

Did not read Putin’s speech, just a few remarks.

So if the US is indeed sending military troops and weapons systems into non NATO Ukraine to protect and keep their current government in power, doesn’t that by definition make Ukraine a puppet state of the USA?

“tl/dr: I’m invading a sovereign nation, because I’m a lunatic.”

Yep, reports are that Putin has gone full Howard Hughes during Covid. He doesn’t leave home, and only a few people a day are allowed to see him after they endure a full disinfection routine.

If what you’re saying is true, there’s a greater than zero chance we could see the military take things into their own hands here. I thought I did read somewhere there are beginning to be some rumblings amongst the officer corps.

I read enough to see many situations between Russia and Ucraine that shadow a certain civil war back in 1865. Give up Ucraine you won’t win. U.S. stay out of it!

Isn’t most of the officer corps in debt to the Democrat party having advanced under the 8 year reign of Caliph Baraq?

Was the Treaty of Versailles wise or fair? Was the imposition of borders decided from far away wise or fair? Were either of them likely to promote peace, or to cause more war?

For heavens sake, they were trafficking young girls and eating rats in the cellars of Sarajevo as late as 1994 over Versailles and the dissolution of the empires!

Agree, Putin is an imperialist. Putin doesn’t have to even try to reconfirm to the world that Biden is One Stupid SumBitch. Biden does that all by himself every time he opens his big fat mouth. His speech was not only late but pathetic to boot.

The flaw of Versailles, which we made again with Russia is that you don’t leave you rival both strong and angry.

We either should have been much more helpful to Russia rebuilding their economy and including them in world security.

Or we should have been harsher. Forced them to grant independence to their autonomous republics, and let everyone from China to Finland regain the land Russia had taken from them.

Our nation should not be dragged into another Twenty Year War in order to protect the interests of the Biden Crime Family in the Ukraine.
