MSNBC contributor and former Watergate lawyer Jill Wine-Banks said on this week’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” that former President Donald Trump taking documents to his Mar-a-Lago property could cause him to be banned from holding office.
Capehart asked, “The National Archives confirmed that classified national security documents were among the items in the 15 boxes of White House records Trump brought with him to Mar-a-Lago.”

But high security information on a Hillary laptop to be shared at home in Chappaqua with a man being charged with child sex violations (Weiner) is okay?
And IRS and other financial records of Americans including opponents and just plain folks.
Or Hillary’s shredding of documents under subpoena at the Rose Law firm is fine, too?
And I think the question for what secrets are shipped to the computers of Barry and Michelle Obama to be gone over for power plays is better phrased “what secrets are NOT in the possession of Barry and Michelle?”
Classification authority (and thus declassification authority) comes from the Executive Branch. Who sits at the top of the Executive Branch? Right. If push comes to shove they can simply claim that the documents in question were declassified before transport. Done. So these yahoos are pushing on something they literally cannot win. A complete waste of time.
What a lying a$$hole! He knows that the President is the highest classification officer in the US. According to ALL classification guidance, the President is the final word on what is classified or not, and at what level. The President can classify or de-classify anything at any time.
They sure are grasping at straws. Anyone predicting that Trump will be tried and convicted under the Presidential Records Act is on some powerful mind-altering drugs.
