Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) showed a five-point lead over Democrat Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in a hypothetical head-to-head gubernatorial poll from Climate Nexus.
The poll found that 45 percent of the registered Texas voters surveyed said they would vote for Abbott, five percent more than would vote for the Democrat.

I’m voting for West for governor on 1 March.
Bigger question, and one I haven’t seen any polling on, is how is Abbott running against Huffines and West. The only numbers I saw back in the fall showed West possibly in a runoff with Abbott, with Huffines a distant third. But Huffines has been campaigning as has Abbott, and West isn’t doing much in the way of trying to get votes.
Lots of back and forth on whether TX will go blue soon. If comes within 5 on the election, that’ll be a major sign that it’s coming.

This is a push poll, from a clown organization, with absolutely no attempt to ascertain the leanings of the undecided and with a cooked partisan gap. EVEN THEN, Abbot is leading by 5.

Another poll a few days ago showed Abbott with a 10% lead over Beto, which sounds about right given that Hispanics have been defecting from the Dems. I believe the poll with the 10% lead for Abbott was for likely voters. The poll cited here is for registered voters and the polls of registered voters tend to lean Dem.
