Well Ukraine did back out of considering joining NATO, so that’s something. It’s an impotent organization, but at least they could have squeezed some coin out of Ukraine for pretend protection.

That was misinformation that the UK Ambassador from Ukraine denied.
Also note that the desire to join NATO is expressed in Ukraine’s Constitution.
Note that US/NATO rejected the Russian demand in writing and stated it was not negotiable. That is up to sovereign Ukraine.
