During an interview with ABC News on Wednesday, White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci responded to a question on what the threshold of cases that would cause him to determine the coronavirus pandemic has passed is by saying that “there’s no magic number” and that metrics for making decisions will look more at the rates of severe disease and hospitalizations over infection rates, but “We don’t know what that number is yet.”
Host Linsey Davis asked, “[O]ur country, right now, at least, is still seeing about 147,000 new cases of COVID per day. But what would that threshold be in the future for you to say, okay, the pandemic has passed?”
Fauci responded, “You know, there’s no magic number. But you want is to make sure the trajectory keeps going down and down and down. And I think the important issue, and that relates to one of the questions you asked before about the CDC considering giving more precise metrics for decision-making, that concentrating more on what the rate of severe disease and hospitalization is will determine that. We don’t know what that number is yet. But that will be much more of a determinant than the rate of infection.”

I had a similar thought--this is the ONE thing that he could control...the definition of what acceptable metrics would be to end the panic.
I'm no world traveler, but my wife and I do like to get OUS on occasion. I think after it might end here, we could be dealing with lockdowns, mandates, and vax proofs for years to come in many countries. Travel OUS will be a nightmare and fully unpredictable.
I have said it many times, it’s not going to stop. If you have by some estimates now one million dead, that ought to tell you something is terribly, demonically wrong. It’s much more than just money. It seems so surreal. so unbelievable but it’s happening before our very eyes. It’s clear, all the world’s soulless leaders have declared war on humanity, else they would have stop this genecide by now. They are not going to do anything to stop it. Most have not figured it out yet. There are so many innocent sheep yet waiting in the slaughter pen being fed lie after lie. It makes my heart cry out whenever I dwell on the evil of this reality.
Rand will get his chairmanship absent any shenanigans from his home state colleague.
