The truckers in Canada and the J6 protesters in the U.S. were highly productive citizens with little to no criminal history. The Canadian government and the U.S. government has thrown the book at these people.

The truckers in Ottawa haven’t seemed to me to really disrupt anything. (They probably would have majorly pumped-up the Ottawa economy - if the restaurants and stores had been open without all these artificial restrictions.)
