If we had invaded Mexico and taken some of their territory and was still fighting a proxy war for some more of their territory, I wouldn’t have a problem with Mexico reaching out to others for help.
This will be at least the 3rd time Russia has annexed territory from their neighbors by force.
They are the aggressors here. The only reason 10,000 NATO troups and 200 US advisors are in Ukraine is because of Russia’s prior aggressions.
No one believes Ukraine was inviting NATO troops to invade Russia.
Back when politics and diplomacy was serious business handled by serious men these sorts of comments would not be made in public. This has the feel of YouTube gangstas throwing down via videos. Not how things were back in the day.
Reporter: What evidence of this do you have?
State Dept Spokesman: I just told you we have indications that an invasion is imminent.
Reporter: No, you are making an assertion. What evidence do you have?
State Dept Spokesman: *blank stare*
The affirmative-action low-IQ gangsters are in charge now.
Anything could happen.
“in many ways this brings Russian troops right up to NATO’s doorstep.”
I’m pretty sure it’s NATO troops that are on Russia’s doorstep.
Up is down. Black is white.
(Stolen) elections have consequences.
Too late, Joe. Russia attacked yesterday, remember?
Spot on!!! I have heard more than one person hint at this!!! Laura Ingraham for one. Maria Bartiromo for another.
This was a violation of NATO rules....consulting with the Russian adversary which is the raison d'etre for NATO's existence in the first place.
Question, since you seem familiar with things over there:
how much could China’s “Road and Belt Initiative China’s “ factor into this? If I recall, a leg of the belt extends into those waters.
If so, it might explain Merkel’s collaboration, Putin’s belligerence and Biden’s opposition.
Far fetched?
That is absolutely right. Trump cost him billions in lower petroleum prices, while Biden is the best friend a third-world thug ever had.
It would be false flag if the Ukranians were shelling them selves and blaming the Russians.
Same if the U.S. had a super-secret artillary unit in the Ukraine shelling the Ukrainians.
If the Russians are shelling Ukrainian schools then what you have is an actual Russian attack on Ukraine.

This is also probably related to the construction of the eastern route of the Chinese-Russian gas pipeline which is currently at an advanced stage with the Chinese-Russian oil pipeline reportedly being stable.
Another consideration is that both China and Russia are making territorial claims on countries which they regard as part of their turf. While Russia is eyeing Ukraine, China is eyeing Taiwan.
As for Merkel, she is a former East German communist - with the meaning of the word "former" in her case being up for grabs. It is very possible that Germany is once again looking to dominate Europe, and having the gas pipeline run to Germany could very well accomplish just that. If this happens, Russia, by rendering Germany "bought and paid for", would presumably be in a position to dominate Eurasia, while Germany would be in a position to dominate Europe proper. Recall that during World War II a pact was made between Hitler and Stalin. Since people never learn the lessons of the past, history does have a tendency to repeat itself.
As for Biden, I think that he is desperately seeking a diversion that will shift public attention away from all of his failures and shady activities for which his son Hunter served as bagman. Let's keep in mind that Biden's shady activities involved both Ukraine and Russia.
Biden likes China's Belt and Road Initiative so much that he founded his own rival plan called "Build Back Better." The problem is that "human infrastructure" (subsidies and handouts) is not the sort of "infrastructure" needed to keep the trains running on time.
"...Bilateral trade relations between China and Ukraine have grown dramatically over the past few years. China has become the largest, single nation trading partner, bypassing Russia..."

Regardless proclamations of cooperation from both, I suspect the relationship is competitive at heart. Those two leaders share a similar geopolitical outlook, which would guarantee friction at some point. Putin would, by now, see China's success with BRI as a threat--an expansionist program of colonization intent on dominance of at least one hemisphere. (That's what BRI looks like to me and I'm not the swiftest horse out of the gate.)
I can't imagine Putin ever being content sharing another boarder with China--or one of its colonies.
I'm afraid this raises the odds he'll invade; in fact I tend to think he must.
I think your assessment of the BRI situation is correct. The BRI is a debt trap for any country that accepts it. In fact, it is called "debt trap diplomacy" - part of a manipulative global strategy which consists of funding major infrastructure projects in developing nations with unsustainable loans and then using the debt to gain leverage over those governments.

You have to hand it to them, it’s brilliant, you would almost think it came from Sun Tzu:
Control transport,
you may control commerce.
Control commerce,
you may control the economy.
Control the economy,
then you control a nation.
One likely reason why they are getting away with it is because they have bought off most of the politicians and other persons of influence who might have opposed it.
