ORWELLIAN: YouTube CEO Recommends Governments Pass Laws To Control Online Speech

ANAHEIM, CA – JULY 23: Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube delivers her keynote at #VidCon at Anaheim Convention Center on July 23, 2015 in Anaheim, California. (Photo by FilmMagic/FilmMagic) The CEO of Google-owned YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, recently urged governments around the world to pass new laws aimed at canceling speech, especially on the web, that is deemed “harmful.” Wojcicki discussed her path to “more control over online speech,” which seemingly includes passing laws that have no regard for the First Amendment.

NEW – YouTube CEO Wojcicki recommends governments pass laws to gain more control over online speech, and elsewhere.pic.twitter.com/IVpOWLP6uH

— Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) February 16, 2022 “Our recommendation, if governments want to have more control over online speech is to pass laws to have that be very cleanly and clearly defined so that we can implement it,” Wojcicki said during an interview with the Hamburg-based broadcaster TIDETVhamburg.

Wojcicki was asked about how the platform manages to wade through numerous rules and regulations around the globe given the online nature of its content.

“We work around the globe, and you’re right, certainly there are many different laws and many different jurisdictions, and we…enforce the laws of the various jurisdictions around speech or what’s considered safe or not safe,” Wojcicki said.

The YouTube CEO talked about the company’s ‘misinformation’ position and explained that their choice to censor those who do not fall into mainstream thought will remain more “controversial” until governments can step in and criminalize their ability to speak freely.

What has been the controversial part is when there is content that would be deemed as harmful but yet is not illegal. An example of that, for example, would be COVID.

I’m not aware of there being laws by governments saying around COVID in terms of not being able to debate the efficacy of masks or where the virus came from or the right treatment or proposal but yet there was a lot of pressure and concern about us distributing misinformation that went against what was the standard and accepted medical knowledge.

And so this category of harmful but…legal has been, I think, where most of the discussion has been.

Transcript Source Big League Politics has covered politically-motivated censorship by the big tech conglomerate on numerous occasions, reporting on numerous campaigns of Google to cut the ability of political dissidents to make money by pulling their ad revenue away. We also have several exclusive reports on the company. These include their censorship of stories exposing draconian treatments of military students at the West Point Academy that arguably violate human rights as well as their purging of an online anti-mandate petition addressed to the University of California system.

ORWELLIAN: YouTube CEO Recommends Governments Pass Laws To Control Online Speech

This and other companies need to be destroyed. By market forces or by fire, they need to be utterly wiped out and their people need to be fleeing in terror from the wrath of America.

A few days ago, I watched Snoop Dogg's "Lavender" video on YouTube in which - in the midst of a barrage of profanities and "n" words typical of rap - he shoots a Trump look-alike in the head, execution style. That simulated assassination apparently does not violate YouTube's precious community standards. Had I felt like it, I could have also watched Eminem's video in which he sadistically fantasizes about raping Ann Coulter with multiple objects. That didn't violate YouTube's community standards, either.

Nor did either of them violate the lofty standards of the NFL and Pepsi Cola, who proudly featured both performers in the Super Bowl halftime show.

She probably can’t stand public opinions about her less than attractive appearance.

People whose open smile is almost half upper gums need to realize that they can smile without showing their teeth, and actually look better. But inside, that woman is a -10.

(My wife has always had a gorgeous smile, with lovely teeth and no gums visible. But her closed lips smile is just as wonderful.)

Exactly. Outsourcing tyranny to private companies doesn’t make it okay.

"Typical CEO. Pathologically risk averse. Wants to be told what to do, will do it and pass along any costs."

I watch a lot of golf, and most tournaments have corporate sponsorship which is incorporated into the tournament's name, e,g, The 23rd Annual Tucson Kleenex Tissue Classic. Sometime during the tournament, the corporate CEO or PR spokesman will be interviewed and describe all of the woke projects they are "partnering" in to promote "equity, inclusion, and diversity" as a way of "giving back to the community."

I am always amazed by what bobbleheads these men are, jumping through every hoop that the left demands. They provide living examples of the term "empty suit." As even golf goes woke, it is getting harder and harder to watch.

Big tech needs to be brought down and broken up. No more government protections.

YouTube CEO Recommends Governments Pass Laws To Control Online Speech...

Well which is it?

Do you want the government controlling the speech of these platforms or not?

And dictating that they must say something is exactly the same as prohibiting them from saying something.

I think that the market is in control and has allowed creation of what must be called greatness.

There is and always has been small tech. Alone small tech lacks leverage to solve problems. So, small tech is sold and amalgamated symbiotically, combines within other small tech to create something larger and quantum degrees greater in ability and outreach.

The problem is not size but politicization.

There is no need. Government already has a direct connection to social media. Remember the woman in Canada who got a visit from the gestapolice for a facebook post?

Today’s social media are subject to the orders of government. Social media willingly shares information with government. Social media, in return, gets favorable treatment from government, and gets away with things that other organizations wouldn’t get away with.

I’m willing to bet my autographed copy of the Communist Manifesto that the sharing of information is done without a warrant.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "

Nice to read a "blast from the past" that is no longer relevant in our totally communist-controlled country...

The deed is done!
As Bill C. would say: "Put some ice on it!"

Our communist masters are emboldened by both the fact that the communists have competed their rape of the United States (a name that is now a misnomer) and it has turned out that the sheeple just do not care...

For example:

  1. The sheeple-morons are still referring to them as Democrats;
  2. A young woman was sensely murdered inside the U.S. Capital and not a single person raised a hand to apprehend the culprit;
  3. The government has imprisoned peaceful demonstrators for over a year and there has been no outcry or action from the sheeple;
  4. A presidential election was blatantly & unashamedly stolen with absolutely no repercussions; and, finally,
  5. Absolutely nothing of any substance has been done over the past 60-years to stop them from seizing the total permanent power they now wield...

The Communist Purge & All Other Aspects of Our Communist Tyranny Continues To Grow Exponentially...
More & More, It Appears That Nothing Will Ever Be Done About It!

Saw a presentation on how these corporations are essentially
constituting laws that Congress had never moved on.

They have no authority to do many things they are doing today.

Youtube is THE biggest stealer of other peoples content.
Much of what is there is copyrighted but google makes a lot of money with ads they put in.
