While scrolling through the New York Times’ home page this morning, I spotted the headline “Cooking in the Time of Climate Change,” which was accompanied by a GIF featuring prep bowls and oil being poured into a hot pan.
But the headline on the actual article quickly revealed that it was not Times “Cooking” content. “The Joy of Cooking (Insects)” read the text hovering over rotating close-up images of fried bugs. Subhed: “Climate-conscious cooking means getting creative.”
The piece, which serves as an introduction to an “Opinion” video, explains that the human population is increasing, driving up demand for food. But “agriculture, particularly the production of meat, is a big driver of environmental harm.
The Times is not the only media outlet pushing a bug-eating agenda. Pieces like this have been circulating for some time; in just the past year, a story in The Guardian asserted, “If We Want to Save the Planet, the Future of Food Is Insects”; Wired said, “The Cicadas Are Coming. Let’s Eat Them!”; and WBUR declared, simply, “Why We Should All Eat Bugs.”
I respect the efforts of the Times “Opinion” page to get people to collectively open their minds to bug consumption and anyone who decides they want to give locust succotash a shot. But I reject the suggestion that I personally need to get over not wanting to eat bugs if I care about the planet. At the moment, this is too big a leap for me, and I’m betting that’s true for most people. Let’s get more Americans into “meatless Mondays,” Impossible Whoppers, and imperfect veganism first, and we’ll see where things go from there.

Let’s not fight climate change.
It’s been changing since the beginning of time and humans are powerless to do anything about it.
I predict the US will go bankrupt before Obama’s estate is flooded.
I’m pretty sure that not one of these evil freaks that push this nonsense will eat bugs themselves.
Climate change is make-believe.
That is what this is all about.
Just watch the so called climate activists drive their huge cars and fly all over the world in their private jets and have their multiple 20,000 square foot estates that consume enough power to power a small city.
Ya right. I am calling BS.
God didn’t give us canine teeth and put us at the top of the food chain to eat bugs and tofu.
AND SOYLENT GREEN IS MADE OUT OF PEOPLE
Agreed. America won’t exist. So it will all be moot.
Here’s a far better idea
.ets stop pretending gmthat man is responsible,in any way shape or form for something that is simply a natural cyclical climate event which has happened many times in the history of the earth...
Accurate prediction..
Someone with much $$ should issue a bet that seas will NOT rise inmthe next 15 years to any appreciable degree- had they done so when al Gore falsely proclaimed that seas woild flood the coasts by the 2000’s- they woild be richer for it today, because seas haven’t changed hardly at all. Heck they haven’t changed in hundreds of years. Coastlines fromhundreds of years ago are stil, the same as today as loved by side by side photo comparisons
“It’s been changing since the beginning of time and humans are powerless to do anything abo”ut it.”
That’s not exactly true. Humans of various types and intelligence, with little technology, adapted to climate changes more severe than anything predicted so far, and survived for hundreds of thousands of years.
We with all our advanced technology are frightened by a few feet of ocean rise? Need some of that neanderthal blood and courage. They killed and ate whatever they could.
bugs are yummy
Yes, humans can adapt to the changes, but they cannot control them without controlling the Sun.
Because Man has NO POSSIBLE control of it. NONE!
If they are serious about saving the environment, they should not use a gas stove. Even better, they should eat those bugs raw.
The climate hoax is just a cover for the population control agenda. The YGLs of the World Economic Forum are forging a world of fewer, more manageable people. They will be the gods of the new world order, controlling the human herds movements and numbers. Freedom is their enemy. Their weapons of war are mandates, vaccines, climate change, racism, white supremacy, inequality, and most importantly, Christianity.
Christianity is not their weapon, it is their main enemy.
Every time I see some article on eating bugs, I imagine some elementary public school yard in the not too distant past, with a bullied future environmentalist surrounded by three or four bullies telling him to “Eat that bug or we’ll beat you up!”
The sniveling eventual environmentalist, covered in dust, tears and snot, a disgusting tasting locust in his mouth, after chewing it a few times, bawls out, “I swear, someday I’m gonna make all you guys eat bugs too! I’ll make *everyone* eat bugs!”
