Peter Sloly has resigned as Ottawa's police chief and will publicly announce he is stepping down after the Ottawa Police Services Board meeting today, according to sources that have spoken to CBC News.
Sloly has faced criticism for his handling of a truck convoy protest that has caused major disruption to Ottawa's downtown core.

He’s been an ass all through this. But not enough of an ass for the city council. They want the truckers shot, quartered and the parts displayed all over Canada so no one dares objects to their dictator again.

No way that flies. And super easy to overcome anyway. That clutch is worn, the truck is broke, that fuel pump needs replacing and nobody is delivering parts, I have a cough and I think it’s covid. I hurt my back, etc etc etc.

I doubt it. I grew up in Vancouver but born in Sask. Believe it or not, the most HATED company in Vancouver is a towing company more than 10 straight years from late 90’s to 2000’s. Just like in America, “we preserve the right to refuse anyone” is in effect there.
