Abortions in Texas fell 60% in 1st month under new limits

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Abortions in Texas fell by 60% in the first month under the most restrictive abortion law in the U.S. in decades, according to new figures that for the first time reveal a full accounting of the immediate impact.

The nearly 2,200 abortions reported by Texas providers in September came after a new law took effect that bans the procedure once cardiac activity is detected, usually around six weeks of pregnancy and without exceptions in cases of rape or incest. The figures were released this month by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

In August, there had been more than 5,400 abortions statewide. State health officials said more data will be released on a monthly basis.

Planned Parenthood issued a statement calling the numbers “the very beginning of the devastating impact” of the law.

The lying excuse for health care funding abortions is that they’re for “women’s health.” No data on how that lie could be true——and many women have the nearest emergency room as their next destination after the abortion clinic.

But it appears the health of the babies has greatly improved:
they are alive, thanks be to God.*

*I know, the women could go to other states.

“It has left some Texas patients traveling hundreds of miles to clinics in neighboring states or farther, causing a backlog of appointments in those places.”

60% down is misleading given the above. Need to know those numbers too. Still good news, there will have been some lives spared.

Well, if neighboring states follow Texas. We could see some astounding improvement in the unnecessary murder of babies.

Need to check the numbers in Oklahoma. I bet they have exploded over last year.

Come on people! We have a bigger task now. It’s to assure these young women there is help out there. Adoption doesn’t have to be first on the list. Churches-where are they in this movement? The retired folks who can volunteer their time to help out? The businesses who can donate some of their services? A registry of helpful volunteer citizens can be established. That’s what computers are for. I could do a lot of things to help out. A ride to the doctor or food bank. Baby sit for an hour so she can run an errand. Counsel. A connection between the generations that’s otherwise not there. The only thing I wouldn’t do is change a diaper. Women have more experience and training at that.

Just remember those are Americans being born. We are going to need all of them

Forget New Mexico, Louisiana should be the best candidate. I predict that soon there will be referral systems set up at Texas Planned Killinghoods to refer and transport women to wherever they need to go so they aren’t inconvenienced.

I also think simple convenience is the real driving force behind abortion. Carrying a child to term and giving it up for adoption is too “inconvenient” for many.

I think California’s leadership stated they would fly
women out here to have abortions, paying for that and
lodging if their home state didn’t allow it.

The problem with abortion? It is a problem of the heart and the mind.

It takes a real blow to wake those up that are brainwashed by the forces of evil.

Restrictive law?

It is not a criminal law.

It is the legislative confirmation of a Texas state natural right to sue abortion providers under certain circumstances.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

Surprise! Pro life laws actually stop women from murdering their children.

My take is this. A young woman who gives her child up for adoption will cry herself to bed every night forever knowing she was the best mom her offspring could have. A young woman who had an abortion will get depressed only when it’s convenient. Emotional types need both ups and downs. Abortion is no way to bring on the downs but it can distract from the artificial ones that come along in everyday life.

“Bella.” A beautiful flick. The young woman in trouble visited her daughter for the first time at around 5 years of age. When asked the child said cheerfully “You’re my mom!” In this day and age there’s no shortage of work cost for those who need to live nearby.

Did abortions increase in neighboring states, or did pregnancies decrease, or did pregnancies carried to term increase?

It wouldn’t surprise me. We are a wealthy nation, wealthy enough to travel for something like that. I’m surprised the left doesn’t bring up the subject of back alley abortions ‘for the poor’.
