Conservative figures have launched an online furor this week, claiming that the government planned to spend $30 million on pipes for smoking crack cocaine.
The heightened concern came months after the Department of Health and Human Services announced a federal grant for local programs that provide myriad "harm reduction" tools, or services that minimize the risks associated with drug use. Republicans seized on "crack pipes," causing the phrase to trend on Twitter on Tuesday, the latest in continued resistance from the GOP against harm-reduction techniques at a time when people are dying of drug overdoses at record rates in the United States.
“It's really disappointing that Republicans are trying to win political points by putting lives at risk and creating misinformation about harm reduction," said Jamie Favaro, executive director of NEXT Distro, one of the groups that applied for the grants.

Yes, they’re not spending $30M on crack pipes.
They’re spending some of the $30M on crack pipes.
Notice how the “no they’re not” retort is always phrased: overstate the accusation, then deny the FULL accusation by admitting it’s only part true.
YES THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS USING YOUR TAX DOLLARS TO BUY ADDICTS CRACK PIPES. LITERALLY.
oh please. why wouldn’t i believe this?
and PS Idgaf if people die of drug overdoses- no one makes them take the drugs.
“It’s not a bong, ma, it’s an incense holder!”
How about building a harm-reduction wall to reduce the amount of Chinese fentanyl being shipped through Mexico to reduce the number of Americans dying from drug overdoses?
Biden’s lickspittles carrying his water again.
I’m going to hold out for the Hunter Biden Signature Edition.
No, the federal government isn’t spending $30 million on ‘crack pipes’
With what the gooberment pays for toile seats and pliers I’m the 30M only covers the needs of the white House.
And Hunter.....Gotta keep Hunter safe........................
Conservatives: The Biden Administration is going to spend $30 million giving out crack pipes to drug addicts?
Washington Post/Lefties: NO, they’re not. That’s a lie.
Conservatives: They aren’t?
Washington Post/Lefties: Noooo. They’re giving out crack pipes AND syringes. That’s different.
Conservatives: grrrrrr...
Funny, I don’t recall the WaPo or Yahoo running any articles to refute the claims making the rounds throughout the MSM and social media that President Trump suggested injecting bleach or Lysol to combat COVID.
Republicans seized on “crack pipes,” causing the phrase to trend on Twitter on Tuesday, the latest in continued resistance from the GOP against harm-reduction techniques at a time when people are dying of drug overdoses at record rates in the United States.
Since when has the WaPo been concerned about people dying of drug overdoses at record rates when that problem is largely the result of COVID lockdowns, and the flood of fentynal that the Biden administration is allowing to come across the border.
Crackpipes and needles for junkies 🤪
Libtards are are so smart
Crack pipes or no crack pipes? That is the question, Washington Compost.
Pathetic.
Harm reduction doesn’t work. It produces more junkies
Abstinence is the trick
And clean new syringes and needles
A “harm reduction” tool for ingesting crack, also known as a crack-pipe, was to be provided so the addicts could more safely satisfy their addiction. Instead of melting and injecting the cocaine, or mixing coke in brownies, our nanny overlords want to give desperate people a pipe, so they can scar their lungs.
Ping
The only thing the government should be spending drug money on is closing the border and putting drug dealers in jail. These smoking kits encourage drug use whether they they contain a pipe or not. Let these leftist organizations pay for them. Not me!
