Sales figures show the Camry at 61,599 car sales in 2021, with the Model Y at 60,394, and the Civic in third at 59,818 sales, while Toyota’s RAV4 at 59,153. Tesla’s Model 3 sedan is in the fifth spot at 53,572.

The Camry, Civic and RAV4 are popular gas vehicles seen as economical vehicle choices. The Model Y starts at $60,990 USD.

Tesla's reportedly only the fifth most popular auto brand in Cali -- given the entertainment industry nitwits are flush with cash, the top four are probably foreign luxury nameplates.

Tesla Quietly Removed Steering Components From New Cars Over Chip Shortage: Report

Employees reportedly debated whether or not to inform customers about the change, and ultimately chose not to.

BY ROB STUMPF FEBRUARY 8, 2022

There's no denying that Tesla's 2021 Q4 deliveries were impressive. It's part of the reason that the Texas-based automaker was able to turn a record-breaking profit, all while somehow mitigating the industry-wide global chip shortage. However, there's reason to believe that those profits may have come as the result of some compromises that could involve vehicle and passenger safety.

According to a report from CNBC, two Tesla employees and internal correspondence seen by the publication revealed that Tesla allegedly eliminated a redundant electronic control unit found in the steering racks of some Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, in order to hit production targets near the end of last year's final quarter.

Different countries have different consumer needs as well as different government Regulations. Fortunately for me and many other americans, we don’t live in that country. The country I live in, Kentucky, allows the market to determine what products people buy and use. It means we don’t have to worry much about rolling brownouts. 😁

Pickup trucks have had the top spots nationwide for years. They are omitted from this listing.

While I worked in L.A. (2019-2020) Tesla, and Toyota Pickup trucks where everywhere. The folks I meet that had Tesla’s said they charged them at home during the evening. In a city of 19 million that has a long history of air pollution/ smog electric is the way for them.
Factor in the average price for a gallon of gas @$4.25 a gallon. Makes sense.

Time to permanently ruin more landscapes with concrete and windmills and solar panels, and power lines stretching across hundreds of square miles along ridges in the coastal ranges, the southern sierra, the mojave and sonora deserts, owens valley, imperial valley, anza borrega, and shut down nukes in places like san onofre, diablo canyon and rancho seco.

"Tesla's reportedly only the fifth most popular auto brand in Cali -- "

And every time you turn around, there's a recall. Just saw another one today for windshield defroster issues.

” However, there’s reason to believe that those profits may have come as the result of some compromises that could involve vehicle and passenger safety.”

You omitted the following:

Tesla vehicles on the road today are not steer-by-wire, meaning that there is still a physical link between the steering wheel and the rack, so controlling the vehicle manually is not believed to be an issue.

I also omitted the part that said these vehicles were assembled in China for the European and Oceania export markets, and Chinese domestic market.

“Pickup trucks have had the top spots nationwide for years. They are omitted from this listing.”

They were omitted because they sold less than the top five.

Guess this has nothing to do with it:

https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/sites/default/files/movingca/cvrp.html

And why doesn’t Tesla qualify for the Federal Tax Credit? Not that I support it just curious why Tesla and GM and off limits?
