Fed up with his party’s kowtowing to its “progressive” wing with soft-on-crime policies, a former conservative Democratic Brooklyn lawmaker switched his party registration to Republican as he plots a run for his old Assembly seat in the borough’s red-trending southern precincts, The Post has learned.
Alec Brook-Krasny’s switch comes as Democrats flee the party nationally, with 29 House Democrats deciding to retire or not seek re-election instead of fighting against the GOP’s “defund the police” attacks and President Biden’s policies.
“I can’t believe everything that’s going on in the Democratic party, all the calls to ‘defund the police,’ the cancel culture. It goes against my character and my nature,” Brook-Krasny, a former state assemblyman, told The Post.
Brook-Krasny is eying a run for his old Assembly seat in the 46th District, which under redistricting includes Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights. Mathylde Frontus is the Democratic incumbent.

And there's the problem. The fact that the GOP embraces people like that with open arms, just to win a seat. All the while they vilify someone that was a hardcore NYC liberal for decades that truly had a change of heart, as told by his actions. That would be DJ Trump, for all the slow ones out there, like the FReepers that still think COVID is the next coming of the Black Death, that surgical masks work, and that being triple jabbed will protect you.
He must have sensed his constituents getting fed up with the Democrat party.
Anyone who remained a Dem during the obammy and Trump administrations is not someone I would trust.

He’s a Russian Jew running in a very Russian area. He has good reason to quit the Democrat Party. He even had a Russian language campaign website.

My sentiments exactly. Why didn’t he switch quite some time ago? He was an accomplice to many votes that hurt the American people. Do not trust him! This is not a win for our side it is another snake slithering itself into our party. And he’ll probably continue voting and siding with the rats. I for one do not celebrate I am more skeptical than ever about anyone that switches parties! At least Senator Manchin, as crooked as he is he stands with his evil party because He knows he was elected as a Democrat by the people who voted for him. And I’m more than sure he does not want to betray his constituency. This guy stuck his finger up in the air to see which way the wind was blowing and decided to switch because he knows the rats are done. He ain’t no fool. Don’t trust a snake.

Even if he is trustworthy, NYC now has RCV.
Until that’s repealed, the fix is in.
And if they are RINO’s, at least Pelosi will be out.
