First lady Jill Biden said at the Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington, DC, taking place between February 6-9 that she is “disappointed” that congressional Democrats could not pass the Build Back Better Act, along with a provision to allow eligible students two years of free community college education and, thus, fulfill a campaign promise.

There’s no such thing as free community college. “Free community college” just means the bill is sent to someone other than the student.
And when that happens, the schools can hike tuition without worrying about losing students. After all, the students wouldn’t be paying for it in the first place.

They don’t realize that “free” community college would make Associate degrees nearly worthless and all community college teachers would have to settle for lower salaries.
It could almost destroy the community college system.
Why should it be free? If you can’t get educated from K to 12, you’re an idiot.
Of course, that was when K to 12 actually educated kids.
