Over 300,000 U.S. federal workers eligible for unions, White House says

WASHINGTON, Feb 7 (Reuters) - The White House on Monday released a highly anticipated report from its labor task force that highlights low union participation in the U.S. government, and includes nearly 70 recommendations on how the government can help workers join labor unions and bargain collectively.

More than 300,000 employees in the federal government, the country's largest employer, are eligible to join a union but have not, the report said.

The government will offer unions seeking to build membership greater access to federal employees, the reports says, and push agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board and the Federal Labor Relations Authority to coordinate on worker organizing.

Liz Shuler, president of the AFL-CIO, the country's largest labor federation, comprising 57 affiliated unions and 12.5 million workers, told Reuters the U.S. labor movement will "be the eyes and ears on the ground," making sure the report gets implemented.

"I think this could be a game changer, to have the power of the federal government examining itself and how its practices can be utilized to advance worker organizing," she said.

Unions can steal your money and give it to any party they want.

What employeer, looking out for their own (and their stockholders’ interests) would encourage employees to join a union?

Unions destroy businesses and industries. So, unions have latched on to the one industry that is a monopoly and can't go out of business (in theory) - government.

It IS awful generous of the White House to push unions in government, given that it's not HIS money he is doling out...

Biden’s stockholders are the DNC (or the CCP) not the citizens.

Fed.gov needs bankruptcy/insolvency

It will be painful for the country at first, but the Fed.gov fiat-money, QE, debt-monetization funding progressive politics and social engineering needs to end, or its the end of America.

Oh, maybe another reason “they” killed him?

The Government SHOULD NOT be offering UNIONS anything, not a contact list of members. The UNIONS should approach the individuals to see if they WANT to be in the UNION. This is what FDR said-— “no government employee UNIONS” because he knew and we all know that these are CLOSED SHOPS for UNIONS who then LOBBY FOR MONEY FOR THE AGENCIES THEY HAVE UNIONIZED.

A vicious circle of influence and un-actionable employee responsibility from the Government’s managers. Managers who are themselves in the Senior Executive Service (UNION), created by that peanut brain Jimmah Cahtah.

Labor unions are anti-free market, inherently socialistic, serve primarily to the benefit of the under-achievers, and inevitably are corrupted into a criminal organization.

Collective bargaining should never have been exempted from prosecution under the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, which was the major impact of the 1935 National Labor Relations Act (which might just as well have been called the Karl Marx Act), which was passed by two demoncrat-controlled chambers of the congress, signed by America’s first all-socialism, all-the-time POTUS, and rubber-stamped by a Progresivist-controlled SCOTUS.

The 1935 NLRA should have been overturned decades ago and “collective bargaining” returned to the status it deserves, prosecutable as a combination of extortion and price-fixing.

It means nothing. I accept fed employment in 2010...at the conclusion of day one processing, they wanted us to sit for the union guy to ‘chat’. We sat...got the 15-minute talk, and all walked out (none interested in membership). At best in the entire organization, there were probably 5-percent union members.

Totally corrupt conflict of interest. Anyone receiving funds from the government via welfare, section 8 housing, or negotiate salaries via government unions should have voting rights suspended. Government unions are nothing more than a façade for Democrat money-laundering. Union dues kicked back to Dems who vote to raise government salaries.
