Leader’s Death Is Another Blow for ISIS, but It’s Hardly the End

BEIRUT, Lebanon — For a man who sought to disappear, the leader of the Islamic State seemed to have done everything right.

He hid out far from where his enemies expected. He never left the house, relying on trusted couriers to communicate with his far-flung underlings. He was the group’s only leader to never issue a video or voice address, for fear it would make him easier to track. Most of his most fervent followers would not have recognized him on the street.

But American commandos came for him anyway, and on Thursday, the leader, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, blew himself up during a raid on his hide-out in northwestern Syria, U.S. officials said.

American leaders hailed Mr. al-Qurayshi’s death as a fresh wound to a fearsome organization whose reach and power had already been greatly diminished. But terrorism analysts warned that killing yet another leader would not erase a group whose members have continued to seek refuge and plan attacks in chaotic parts of the globe.

Funny. I don't hear any crowing from Peppermint Patty or the other usual suspects.

When they kill off the Old Man the ambitious young bucks come into power and cause more trouble.

But maybe they’re less street-wise and too eager. Whatever. Blow ‘em up. Pi@@ on their ashes. This war won’t end anytime soon.

What surprises me is that the Jiden-istas are not making hay of this. Don’t they want to get their creds back after Afghanistan? Two articles on the Internet that I can find, and barely any coverage. I guess he’s not getting his message across;-s

Just curious if Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi ever met John McCain, Bob Menendez or Lindsey Graham.

"Leader’s Death Is Another Blow for ISIS, but It’s Hardly the End"

True dat. In case you hadn't noticed, this is the War Without End.

Islamo-Fascism isn't about people, or an organization, it's about an idea. And especially in this "information age," once an idea has excaped into the wild, you can't kill it. Ever.

So you can't kill your way out of this. Even if we killed every Muslim on earth, at some future date some other knucklehead would find a copy of the Quran online (or in some musty old bookstore) and start the whole cycle over again.

Which leaves just two options. Submit to Sharia or be prepared to play Wack-A-Muslim until they stop coming.

And as Golda Meir so prophetically said, "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us." That time has not yet come so either grab your ankles or gird your loins for battle, there is no third alternative.

recently it has been reported that Iran is only a few months away from having their own nuke.
Israel has stated they will not allow that to happen.
Iran may get nuked REAL soon aft er all.
I’m hoping.

From the look of that house, that was a hell of a suicide vest.

In true Muslim fashion, he took along four women and six children to Hell when he blew himself up.

Incentivize. Yeah. If he gets below 20 in his approval rating, maybe he’ll get serious about the border crisis.

Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaidai

Known by numerous noms de guerre, including Ustath Zaid (Teacher or Professor Zaid), Abu Khattab al-Iraqi, Abu al-Moez al-Iraqi and Abu Ishaq, he returned to Syria from Turkey about a year ago. Sumaidai’s profile is indicative of a new phase for the Islamic State and its new generation of leaders, and reinforces views that the organization is running out of leaders from the founding years in 2003 and 2004. That said, he seems to have what it takes to reenergize the group's base and claim legitimacy even more so than the previous leader.
