Former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday directly rebutted Donald Trump’s false claims that he somehow could have overturned the results of the 2020 election, saying that the former president was simply “wrong.”
In a speech to a gathering of the conservative Federalist Society in Florida, Pence addressed Trump’s intensifying efforts this week to advance the false narrative that, as vice president, he had the unilateral power to prevent President Joe Biden from taking office.
“President Trump is wrong,” Pence said. “I had no right to overturn the election.”
In a statement Tuesday, Trump said the committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol should instead probe “why Mike Pence did not send back the votes for recertification or approval.” And on Sunday, he blasted Pence, falsely declaring that “he could have overturned the Election!”
Vice presidents play only a ceremonial role in the the counting of Electoral College votes. Any attempt to interfere in the count would have represented an extraordinary violation of the law and an assault on the democratic process, sparking a Constitutional crisis.
Pence, in his remarks Friday to the group of lawyers in Lake Buena Vista, described Jan. 6, 2021 as “a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol” and framed his actions as in line with his duty as a constitutional conservative.

No, jack@ss, Pence, he never said, no one ever said that you could have overturned the election. You could have refused to accept the electors from those states where there was an obvious major issue with the count.

Trump did a lot of great things. His greatest was getting this nation to focus on election integrity. Nixon could have done the same thing in 1960 but simply accepted the crooked result. Anytime you let a crook get away they see that as an opportunity to up their game.

Pence did drop the ball. Nazi and the left were scared of what could transpire in daylight. They brought in operatives and set a false flag.
If Pence’s options to fix the steal was not a given constitutional slam dunk, do you think a fake fracas at the capital on the exact day and time of January 6, 2020 would have otherwise been CAUSED to occur. The certification was put off to be done latter in the dark physically and figuratively on purpose.

There was plenty of evidence that some of the votes were not legal and should have sent back for review and correction.
Pence belongs to a faction of the republican party that worked against the American people.
Then you should focus your attacks on the Democrats and their current efforts if election integrity is what you want to focus on. Pence is not the main problem unless you want to essentially say Trump made yet another horrible traitorous pick for an underling. (seriously is there any major figure picked by Trump that hasn’t been viciously attacked here? lol.)
I wish there were more conservatives but outside our little bubble people may be willing to listen to policy about election integrity in general. But most of Trump’s rhetoric has been specifically on reliving the 2020 debacle focusing on how it affected him rather than broad policy on how to prevent it in the future for everyone.
You’re not going reverse the 2020 election this late in the game anymore. If you could than Trump would be sitting in the Oval Office right now. Prove me wrong and miracle Trump back in as President before 2024 somehow and I’ll gladly take back my words.
