Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds to End COVID-19 Emergency Declaration in the State – Will Deal with COVID-19 the Same as Flu

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Thursday that she will allow the “public health disaster emergency proclamation” to expire on February 15, 2022.

The emergency proclamation was first issued on March 17, 2020, to authorize health mitigation measures during the early state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We cannot continue to suspend duly enacted laws and treat COVID-19 as a public health emergency indefinitely. After two years, it’s no longer feasible or necessary. The flu and other infectious illnesses are part of our everyday lives, and coronavirus can be managed similarly,” stated Gov. Reynolds. “State agencies will now manage COVID-19 as part of normal daily business, and reallocate resources that have been solely dedicated to the response effort to serve other important needs for Iowans,” the governor said in a statement.

The state’s two websites that track COVID-19 data will now be decommissioned on February 16, 2022.

“The expiration of Iowa’s Public Health Disaster Emergency Proclamation will result in operational changes related to the COVID-19 response. The most noticeable change will be how data is reported publicly. The state’s two COVID-19 websites, coronavirus.iowa.gov and vaccinateiowa.gov, will be decommissioned on February 16, 2022, but the information will remain accessible online through other state and federal resources,” according to the news release.

“While our COVID-19 reporting will look different, Iowans should rest assured that the state health department will continue to review and analyze COVID-19 and other public health data daily, just as we always have,” stated Kelly Garcia, director of the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). “The new format will include data points that Iowans are used to seeing, but moves us closer to existing reporting standards for other respiratory viruses. This new phase also assures that our teams, who have been deeply committed to the COVID-19 response, can return to their pre-pandemic responsibilities, and refocus on areas where the pandemic has taken a hard toll.”

IDPH will report relevant COVID-19 information weekly on its website, similar to how flu activity is reported. Data will include positive tests since March 2020 and in the last seven days, cases by county, an epidemiologic curve, variants by week and deaths since March 2020. Vaccine information, including total series and boosters completed, demographics for fully vaccinated Iowans, and vaccination by county, will also be reported. Aligning the agency’s reporting processes will create greater efficiency for its staff while continuing to provide important information to Iowans. The new report will be available starting February 16 at idph.iowa.gov.

The State of Iowa and its health care providers will also continue to report COVID-19 data as required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC’s COVID Data Tracker reports state-level data for cases, deaths, testing, vaccination and more. The site is available at coronavirus.gov or covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker.

The State Hygienic Lab will continue to operate the Test Iowa at Home program. As testing supply increases and more options for self-testing become available, the state will reassess the need for the program. For more information or to request an at-home test, visit testiowa.com.

States are not required to have a disaster proclamation in place to be eligible for federal coronavirus-related funding or resources. Iowa will continue to receive vaccine and therapeutic allocations as normal after the proclamation expires.

Nearly half of U.S. states have already discontinued their public health proclamations, and several more are set to expire in February if they aren’t renewed.

Myocarditis Risk Increases Up To 133-FOLD Following Covid Vaccination, Study Finds

A study published this week in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has found that the risk of myocarditis (heart inflammation) after receiving an mRNA Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) was dramatically increased across many age groups and was highest after the second vaccination dose in young men.

The study found myocarditis reports were highest after the second vaccination dose in males aged 12 to 15 years at 70.7 per million Pfizer doses, compared to an expected rate of 0.53 per million, amounting to a 133-fold increase; in males aged 16 to 17 years at 105.9 per million Pfizer doses, compared to an expected rate of 1.34 per million, amounting to a 79-fold increase; and in young men aged 18 to 24 years at 52.4 per million Pfizer doses and 56.3 per million Moderna doses, compared to an expected rate of 1.76 per million, amounting to a 30-fold and 32-fold increase respectively. The full results are shown in the table below and a selection are depicted in the chart above.

Deaths and new cases are higher now than when we were vaccinated and were locking down the schools.

We were called kooks for saying “treat it like the Flu”.

Now they finally admit we were right.

I agree. An earlier post regarding the vax and cancer is very troubling. . .very sad. It’s all about the money and power. Remember, the social security system is broken.

I have to believe any state with a rational Governor will do this no later than February 15th.

There is no reliable measure on this. It’s Springtime and we should see a decrease in deaths, but when the next variant arrives that could become an increase.

Make no mistake here. I know young folks are laser focused on lockdowns and economic consequences, but in the end, only death count matters.

There is a non peer reviewed study making the rounds on right wing sites declaring that lockdowns did not reduce deaths. We’ll know more about that when the peers are finished with it.

In general I do not think lockdowns matter at all. Not to economics. Not to epidemiology. The reason is when deaths are growing and old folks dropping like flies, people will flat out lock themselves down. You can force people onto subways at gunpoint, I suppose, but self lockdown is the most powerful one at all and it depends only on the virus, not government.

My friends a certain low cost cruise line that runs out of Long Beach cut their prices in half yesterday. I marked the good trips as I ain’t scared of no Covid. Today the prices went back to where they were 2 days ago(doubled). I think it has to do with other people no longer letting the news of the day affect their lives.

The young are pretty safe.

The old are not.

It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.

If the old don’t let death count news affect their lives, their lives won’t be very long.

As it should have been from the beginning of this B.S. Instead, the elected morons chose to decimate our country's economy. Thousands and thousands of small businesses wiped out. It was deliberate. The sickening part was the number of people that went right along with it.

It is the flu.

Or close enough for government work.

If you need any evidence for this ask a doctor what is the difference between the treatment for WuFlu and non-chinese manufactured flu.

Husband is currently ill and doc asked if he wanted to go in for a WuFlu test. Which would require us to drive about forty minutes to a testing site, sit there for a couple of hours and then drive back. So about three hours. Plus the wait time for the results.

Husband asked him what was the difference in treatment. Doc responded that he could start treating him now for flu or next week for WuFlu.

We decided it was flu. But his upset stomach might be from a parasite.

So.....

I am starting to like New Doctor.
