290 Fully Vaccinated Massachusetts Residents Died Of COVID-19 Over 1 Week

Nearly 300 fully vaccinated residents in Massachusetts died of breakthrough COVID-19 over the past week even as case numbers have dropped statewide.

Between Jan. 22 and 29, Massachusetts health officials reported 290 additional breakthrough COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state’s total death toll among the fully vaccinated to 1,789. The figure represents 0.03% of the state’s inoculated population.

During the same period, health officials also recorded 27,530 new breakthrough infections and 555 additional hospitalizations. The state has now reported a total of 422,132 cases and 6,440 admissions among the fully vaccinated. The numbers represent 8.1% and 0.12% of the state’s inoculated population, respectively, according to the latest COVID-19 Vaccine Data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

A breakthrough case refers to when a person who has been fully vaccinated or boosted against COVID-19 tests positive for the virus at least 14 days after the last dose.

Despite the rising number of breakthrough cases, public health experts still urge people to get vaccinated, noting that the shots help prevent severe illness, hospitalizations and deaths. Health experts also note that breakthrough cases are expected as no vaccine is 100% effective in preventing an infection.

I have followed the USA covid numbers on a weekly basis for well over a year.

What I am beginning to notice is an increase in the number of deaths attributed to covid.

If the vaxx is the root cause for an increase in covid deaths, then the USA is so screwed.

During the recent omicron surge, Covid cases in Mass peaked at around 24,000 a day. By contrast, at the end of 2020, when hardly anyone had been vaccinated, the daily peak was around 4,800. This is more than a 400% INCREASE in cases a year into the vaccination program. Covid deaths slightly increase, from about 65 per day to 68 per day.

Covid deaths in the US recently matched the levels from mid-February 2021 (about 2,450 a day), which was early in the vaccination program. US Covid deaths had peaked in January of 2021 at about 3,570 per day. But the recent daily totals actually exceeded the totals from the original wave in the Spring of 2020, when no one was vaccinated, and even though omicron is said to be a milder variant.

It isn't mentioned very often, but many of the most vulnerable people would have died in the first two waves - Spring 2020 and Winter 2021 - so the current death rates need to be viewed in that perspective, as well as the fact that we've had an extra year to work on therapeutics.
