WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in letters to seven governors, is reaffirming the need for members of their states’ Army and Air National Guards to get the mandatory COVID-19 vaccine or lose their Guard status.
In nearly identical letters signed late last week, Austin tells the governors that the virus “takes our service members out of the fight, temporarily or permanently, and jeopardizes our ability to meet mission requirements,” according to copies obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

I think much of the world seems to be giving up on this bogus COVID thing.
But we seem to be doubling down.
Does he have any legal authority of state national guard units ?
I thought it was the governors.
Get the jab, or we’ll send you back to Afghanistan, Paean.

I think it’s a money thing. I suppose a state’s National Guard could revert back to being a state militia (many positives there). But then it would lose all sorts of federal funding.
Honk
Not seen in the CIA news because: Hey- lookie , Joe Rogan! Woopie!!
GFY Austin, you fat fudge packin POS. Go back to Raytheon where you came from.
Good luck. When so many other countries and US counties are dropping these absurd mandates, the US military doubles down on stupidity that has NOTHING to do with health.
Did he say anything about those who have the better immunity, natural immunity?
Like decertifying 7 states worth of air and army guards doesn’t do the same thing? Retard.
In the words of Nancy Reagan “Just Say No”
My sons are fighting to not get the jabs, they are both in the Army Reserve, one in PA and the other TN. Much different approaches...PA is especially super toxic leadership.
Both however have been told they can’t be deployed, can’t be promoted and will be forced out at the soonest possible moment. The one in TN has been told they won’t process his packet to leave (which has been delayed 9 months now) until he gets the jab...which doesn’t make any kind of sense at all (but that is the clown world we live in).
Both report the devastating impact this, and Afghanistan, have had on the E6 and below professional soldiers that are leaving in droves.

USSC has ruled that the federal government exercises plenary power over the NG.
Perpich v. DOD, 496 U.S. 334 (1990)
My bad, the 2nd son is now in NJ...recently sent there from PA. Both NJ & PA exhibit the same level of toxic leadership with respect to the jabs.
Governors could use infrastructure bill money. Dems have used a bait-and-switch since passing it, so why not return the favor?
Makes in wonder why they’re pushing this on the military.
As soon as they make the plastic black we will have our very own Darth Vader.
