SALT LAKE CITY – Republican officials meeting in Utah advanced a watered-down resolution Thursday that would formally censure GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for their perceived disloyalty to former President Donald Trump but not seek to expel them from the party.
The resolution's passage through a subcommittee followed hours of hand-wringing over language that initially would have called on the House Republican Conference to oust Cheney and Kinzinger, the only Republicans on the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. The censure resolution is expected to be voted on Friday by all 168 Republican National Committee members at their winter meeting in Salt Lake City.
“We want to send a message that we’re disapproving of their conduct. It’s a middle ground,” RNC member Harmeet Dhillon said, noting that the vote was unanimous.

Kinzinger is done anyway; the dens gerrymandered his district away. Now his career options will be either a gig on CNN; a job in the Biden Admin (wouldn’t it be wonderfully bipartisan if Biden nominated Harris for the Supreme Court, she resigns as VP and doesn’t get confirmed, and Biden picked Kinzinger to be VP); or he ends up on the View as the conservative voice.
A Republican Party that allows stolen elections and the destruction of America that follows does not deserve to exist. Dispose of the useless GOP and form a MAGA party. Only then will anything change for the better in a lasting way.

Oh, they’re Repukes alright. But they are not CONSERVATIVES.
I think the Dominion votes mostly democrat but it might make an exception in Cheney’s case.

Just do it, have a backbone and some principles.
. Strip them of all committee assignments and expel them from any GOP/conservative caucus groups in the House. This should have been done a LONG time ago.

Kinzinger is on his way out. He’ll be lucky to get elected dog catcher. Cheney will likely be dumped, but having the Cheney name will get her speaking and book deals.
Both will be available — briefly — for “news” commentary, but as CNN is collapsing and will likely be moving to a more news-oriented platform, the choices for camera time are becoming limited…
