OAKDALE, Calif. — A little more than 200 students in the Oakdale Joint Unified School District went to school without a mask on Wednesday, according to Superintendent Dave Kline.
Parents referred to images of Gov. Gavin Newsom maskless at the 49ers-Rams football game over the weekend as having inspired the protest.

Mandates are not law. They did not go through the legislative process, they were not reviewed, they were not voted on. They are dictates and we freemen do not respond well to dictators.

Amen. These people are just liars abusing the authority that was HANDED to them by PARENTS because they were scared...but it has ZERO weight of law.
Good for them. Anyone that experiences retaliation should just sue the crap out of them and expose this ‘law’ for the nothing that it is.

If you are school teacher around the age of 30, burned out and watching your college friends rise in the corporate world while you’re stuck with a bunch of snotty-nosed kids all day, you’d be a big supporter of masks forever too.
Oakdale calls itself the cowboy capitol of the world, several top rodeo stars of all time came from here. It’ about as red as you can get here in California!

No it doesn't. It was never law and Governor Newsom invalidated his own illegal diktat by going maskless at the football game.
Anyone denied service, denied entry, summoned, or arrested for not wearing a mask needs to sue the company, agency, and officer involved for deprivation of rights.
CHOOSE your career wisely.
And I expect there won’t be even a TINY BLIP in their Covid infection rates, related to the 200 kids going maskless.
And all they had to do was say “I’m holding my breath.”

Kids here in rural MO went back to school maskless in Fall of 2020 and have been maskless ever since. Most of us adults quit wearing them in late Spring 2020. Some of use, myself included, never wore the things.
So glad I moved to the boonies where mass formation psychosis seems to have no effect. We used observation. No one was dying in droves so we figured covid wasn't Dawn of the Dead type shit that they were trying to make it out to be.
So it’s a protest to not wear a mask? That’s sick. Protest by doing some that will really affect those that you are protesting against. Living life normally is not a protest.
Some high school kids in Washington state did same thing.
I think they all walked out and went home.
If these kids continue to defy “the law” (right) they could be suspended. But they won’t be. The schools get paid per kid per day. They won’t want to lose that much money.
Indeed a mandate is not a law. And the jab is not a vaccine.

Kids in the semi-rural MO district I sub at, are pretty much massless. There are some, maybe 10%, who wear masks and no one seems to care one way or the other. Parents want them to wear masks, or if they want to wear masks, seems fine for everyone. Most do not wear them however.
School was open nearly all of last school year, and has been open for all of 21-22. Kids and teachers are not dropping like flies.
