The butterflies will fly no more — or not in public view, anyway.
The National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas, has announced that it's closing its doors "for the immediate future" after ongoing harassment directed at employees and the center itself.
The center, a nonprofit nature reserve nestled near the U.S.-Mexico border, unwittingly became the subject of conservative conspiracy theories and political conflict in recent years, having been locked in a years-long legal battle with the Trump administration and We Build the Wall regarding a planned border wall.
The harassment grew so great that it led the board of directors of the North American Butterfly Association, which owns and operates the butterfly center, to decide on Tuesday to close the center's doors, according to a statement released Wednesday.
"The safety of our staff and visitors is our primary concern," Jeffrey Glassberg, the NABA's president and founder, said in the news release. "We look forward to reopening, soon, when the authorities and professionals who are helping us navigate this situation give us the green light."

As a conservative I hate butterflies. Especially the Monarchs. In the fall they stop in my yard, take my nectar and head for Mexico.
The lefty butterfly wranglers were perfectly fine with tens of thousands of dangerous illegal immigrants and cartel murderers sneaking through their little sanctuary but now they try to blame all their safety fears on American citizens?.

If Republicans regain political power and then do their usual trick of preemptive surrender to the globalist left then there will be a revolution.
I vaguely remember this. They treated this Butterfly Zoo like it was a Mission where the butterflies sought refuge.
They need to build the wall to the north of the butterfly sanctuary.

IIRC, it was an onion field before they IMPORTED the butterflies.
They say that if a butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazonian rain forest, it can change the weather half a world away.

As with the recent, emergency closure that lasted three days, the board has chosen to pay our valued staff, who should not suffer a loss of wages due to this unexpected business disruption caused by false and defamatory attacks directed by political operatives.

I’m calling Shenanigans. They are closing because the cartels are using their undisturbed wilderness land to move money and drugs through there. I saw it on TV. They are not closing because of harassment from people who want to stop the invasion.
