A group of about a hundred people gathered outside the Pride Center in Wilton Manors Tuesday, rallying against a proposal in the Florida legislature that would limit discussion about LGBTQ issues at school.
Lana Goff, an 11th grader in Broward County, is one of those students.
“I first came out when I was in 7th grade,” she said....

Um, no, maybe "dozens"...
And the rest of the Miami media has gone all in on attacking Ron DeSantis over the effort to make sure PARENTS have a say in public schools.
I remember how wise I was in the 7th grade. /s
Seriously, it’s a religion and as such should not be promoted on public school property during school hours.

GAY stands for Got Aids Yet?
I remember a class in the 9th grade English and we all read parts of a play or something. One character often referred to in the script by his first name, Gay, brought the class to uproarious out of control laughter every time it was read. Ah the good old days.

100 ÷ 21,538,187 = 0.0000046429%
(Students ÷ FL population)

Children get rights when they are 18.
The passage that this writer finds so egregious I find (almost) perfectly agreeable. I would change "sexual orientation" to the more accurate term "sexual preference"
If this statement were true ‘they’ would have stomped their feet and deeeemanded the reporter put the proper pronoun in the artcle, to whit? “I first came out when I was in 7th grade,” THEY said....” If ‘they’ are confused about which way to go ‘they’ could have said ““WE first came out when WE WERE in 7th grade,” ‘they’ said.... I’m soooo confused. About that. Not me. LOL!
Google "Norm Macdonald gay pride parents".
WARNING: Not for work, children, or sensitive adults.
That is the natural reaction for normal men. Normal men comprise 98% of all men.
....”A group of about a hundred people gathered outside the Pride Center in Wilton Manors Tuesday,,,,”

Way too much school time given to what is supposed to be a private, individual experience.
I came out as Batman when I was in the 7th grade.
