At the HoF induction ceremony in five years, Big Ben is gonna have to open for Tom Brady
I thought he already retired?
Thank you Gisele Ono!
(Only kidding...just had to add that!)
He had incentives in his contract if he waited until today. Something like millions of dollars.
But, by retiring today, he foregoes his guaranteed money for 2022—which he would have gotten if he waited a couple of weeks.
So, it was a smart business move on his part—and a positive gesture to the Bucs.
Now I bet we hear from Gronk in the next couple of days.
It was a he!! of a run.
If Rodgers goes I win the pool!
great QB
however, I’ll also leave this here.
“Shut up and dribble” Tom
He never fully recovered from the Eli Manning kryptonite.
It doesn’t surprise me. Brady has nothing left to accomplish. He is at the age that severe injury and conditions like arthritis become much more likely and he got all the money in the world. Tom is still in good health and has half his life left to enjoy it. Certainly he loves the game and is at the top of his craft but deciding to retire makes a lot of sense.

I hate having to say that any QB could possibly be better than Joe Montana but I have to admit that Brady was. I guess. Probably.
So Warren Moon, Vinnie Testaverde, and Steve DeBerg outlasted Brady. He’s only the 6th oldest player to play QB.
Of course. Next season, every time a starting quarterback gets hurt, everybody will be begging for Brady to come out of retirement.
Greatest QB of all time.
I’m happy for the guy. He will be able to sleep in, hang out at Starbucks, maybe see a movie.
Well, he certainly doesn’t need the money
Well, it was inevitable. Brady was truly sui generis, playing at a high level well into his forties. He was fortunate he avoided serious injuries in his career and was able to maintain that level of performance unlike say Peyton Manning who could barely throw at the end of his career. So thanks Tom Brady for some magnificent performances. And good luck to you in the future. Having Gisele Bundchen around the house can’t be all bad can it?
Danny Ainge of Boston Celtics fame had a brief career in baseball. When asked what he threw Ainge to get him out, an opposing pitcher simply said, “Strikes.”
Also, I think Brady knew it was time to leave the stage, since now it appears the NFL is headed for a new “Golden Era” of quarterbacks with Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert and Mac Jones. All in the AFC. The NFC has some catching up to do in that department.
