Meet Donald Trump, the constitutional scholar.
The twice-impeached former president is claiming that the bipartisan effort to reform the Electoral Count Act of 1887 proves that ex-Vice President Mike Pence had the legal right to overturn the results of the 2020 election that Trump lost.
“If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had “absolutely no right” to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate ... how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election?” Trump asked.
Without providing any facts or legal precedent, Trump suggested the effort to clarify the 135-year-old statute means Pence would have been within his rights to reject the results of the electoral votes cast by the states on Jan. 6, 2021.

For reasons having nothing to do with the fraud claims from the 2020 election.
These aren't indictments, but they are a start.
Or charges or criminal complaints or arrests. Wake me when that starts happening.
The challenge was brought in advance of the elections over fear of fraud enablement.
Chicken and egg.

The Electoral Count Act of 1887 specifies that the votes are counted by four tellers, two chosen by the majority and two chosen by the minority.
The Vice President opens the votes and hands them over to be counted.
HE DOES NOT COUNT THE VOTES.
Ceremonial role. He could had passed it to Patrick Leahy, president pro tempore of the Senate.
You know that...and I know that...and most of the country knows that...but it seems to be lost on a lot of people around here.
That post destroys your argument. If AZ, GA, MI, PA, and WI were objected to due to unconstitutional changes made to their election laws and refused Biden loses.
Am I the ONLY one that noticed the “insurrection “ started at the EXACT time the AZ electors were objected to,?
They were dismissed to debate the objection and vote on the electors and then it was none stop riots. Then they reconvened late at night and certified all electors. No one was allowed to object.
Coincidence?
Pences role was to oversee that process and he punted. No objections allowed. Unconstitutional
Sometimes you give me the impression that a lot of stuff doesn't make sense to you.
It shows no such thing. What it shows is that I disagree with a lot of you making excuses for the milquetoast soy boy who wouldn't put up a fight.
But if you have one side saying the recounts and audits showed the election to be fair and above board, and the other side saying it's a crooked as the day is long then why should anyone take one side or the others without a chance for both side's evidence being heard in court and ruled on?
Well firstly, I regard the courts as primarily incompetent, and secondarily corrupt. Courts wouldn't hear cases. Given the massive amount of evidence demonstrating fraud, it should have been a slam dunk to get some favorable rulings in a competent/honest court system. The fact that this didn't happen just tells me the system is broken.
And yet with all that there have been no charges filed, no people arrested, no trials held, no convictions, no nothing.
So? The KKK used to get away with sh*t too, because the state apparatus was favorable to them. Now we have the state apparatus being favorable to these modern crooks, and so the courts are not a likely avenue for successful redress.
If the evidence is that massive then why not?
Covered above. Incompetent/corrupt. Same thing happened with the natural born citizen issue.
See my Post 75. I just posted the link
The Arizona challenge was debated and voted on once Congress reconvened, as was a challenge to the Pennsylvania vote. Several other challenges failed because no Senator agreed to sign on to the challenge.
I hear you! However, I believe the source of the nihilism we see today is from the Philosophy Depts. of our universities. For many decades, they have taught moral relativism, subjectivism and that knowledge is unknowable, thus there is no right or wrong. This is where it all starts: with ideas. Ideas are what move history. The propagandists and anti-intellectual forces were taught to think or not think in school/college.
Do you have a source for this? I don’t believe it.
Ok. Well. Too bad pence didn’t exercise that right.
