Sen. Collins says she's 'very unlikely' to support Trump in 2024

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said on Sunday that it is "very unlikely" she would support former President Trump should he run for reelection in 2024.

"Certainly it's not likely given the many other qualified candidates that we have that have expressed interest in running, so it's very unlikely," Collins said on ABC's "This Week."

"We're a long ways from 2024, but let me say this: I do not think that President Trump should have made that pledge to do pardons. We should let the judicial process proceed," she added, referring Trump's suggestion during a rally in Texas on Saturday that he would consider pardoning those charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

A crooked justice system railroading opposition is exactly why we have pardons in the first place.

Can you imagine if RINOs like Collins stopped giving the time of day to Fake Corporate News Media like ABC and CNN?

I do not think that President Trump should have made that pledge to do pardons.

What "pledge" is she talking about?!

Idiot!

Gm Alexander.

The only pledge he made was to treat them fairly.

Seems Collins is OK with locking people up in solitary for years without trial...

I think more importantly President Trump will NOT consider pardoning those who colluded with the CCP to bring havoc to the world with the Wuhan Virus. The traitors include Fraudci and Bill Gates and numerous idiots with medical degrees. But the real power behind the scamdemic were those in the DimWIT Party who ignored the US Constitution in violating people's rights.

President Trump will NOT consider pardoning those who committed TREASON by attempting to overthrow the US government by generating false claims of collusion by DJT with the Russians. Durham will show these claims were made up out of thin air and was financed by Hillary Clinton and the DimWIT Party. Other notables will be Obama, Brandon and NUMEROUS members of the HOuse and Senate.

And President Trump will NOT pardon any member of either party that participated in 2020 vote fraud when numerous DimWIT candidates including Brandon himself were elected by massive vote fraud. These traitors range from Brandon to the local election officials who counted illegal votes.

Those who were charged with made up charges from Jan 6 of course should be pardoned as they were entrapped by the FBI, the DimWIT Part and especially DimWITS like Nanzi Pelosi.

Hi, RandFan:

The only pledge he made was to treat them fairly.

My point is that President Trump did NOT use the word "pledge," yet Collins chooses to employ that misleading word / intentionally misquotes him.

That is grossly reckless for a politician (who should be skilled in communication).

Trump talked about treating prisoners fairly and pardons if necessar. The news and both sides of the aisle are saying he made a pledge, that exact word.

Think about it. This is just one more example of how the news and both parties are acting in their own interests, not the public's.

The Insiders ARE the government (elected officials, employees, contractors...the Deep State).

Trump is THE outsider who is threatening to bring the government to heel and make it responsible to the voters.

Think about it.

I don’t seem to recall that she gave President Trump all that much support in the first place. Nope, I seem to remember that she was one of the RINOs who was on the wrong side of the hall most of the time.

Well Senator Collins, I guess you’ll just have to vote for
Hillary then, because you don’t run our party.

Maine not only has RCV-enabled voting machines...

Maine has RCV.

Collins isn’t going anywhere until one of two things happens.

1) Deep State wants here gone.

2) Maine repeals RCV and goes back to dumb voting machines.

Hey Collins, you moron, a pardon IS a part of the process. If unjustly convicted, a pardon takes care of that.

There’s still the problem of those damn voting machines.

And RCV nationwide if Deep State succeeds in passing a bill with those RCV provisions stuffed in it.
