As he delivered an otherwise unremarkable lecture on business communication, Professor Greg Patton tried to give his many Chinese students a helpful tip.
To illustrate a point about padding out conversation with words such as 'um' or 'you know', Patton gave a common Mandarin example, roughly pronounced 'nay-guh'.
The next thing he knew, he had been suspended from his job at the University of Southern California. Some black students in his class had formally complained that he had been racist.
They had been made to feel 'less than' by a teacher who had deprived them of their 'peace and mental wellbeing', they claimed, demanding he be sacked.

The problem seems to be that too many sensitive souls who have poor critical thinking and reasoning skills are currently clogging up our universities and colleges and wasting everyone's time trying to make Defcon 1 issues out of non-issues.

They’re just common bullies.
Instead of calling on it, the universities are backing them
in their bullying.

It’s not what the speaker says, but what the listener thinks they might have heard? Insanity.

I heard once a saying, “if you want to know who holds power over you find out whom you’re not able to offend.”
So that is the education establishment that started with, affirmative action, has evolved into surrendering to any perceived wrong, of which ever group is said to be a minority.
This is pure cowardice on the administration.

Hank Johnson was offended though he’s still worried about Guam tipping over.

While a Democrat and not ideologically conservative, linguistics professor John McWhorter deeply understands the meaning of words. He has always been a straight shooter as a thinker and writer, much like Democrat Glen Greenwald, who is writing the true stories of the vaccine scams.
