A team of U.S. senators is asking the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to remove a ban that prevents men who have sex with men (MSM) from donating blood.
The senators, led by Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, said in a letter to the FDA that they’re reaching out “to express our alarm at the nationwide shortage of blood and blood products, which has placed patient care and safety at risk.”1
The group is urging the FDA to “quickly act on the best available science and update its outdated and discriminatory blood donor deferral policies for men who have sex with men, a long-overdue step that would dramatically increase the eligible donor base.”

Men who have sex with men remain the number one group leading the HIV infection epidemic. The second place isn't even close. This is THE "gay" disease, because it almost exclusively affect queer men and those who have sex with them.
The Red Cross sometimes follows the science.

Officials question why don’t people drink sewer water
Vitalant dominates around here, and they are uber masky, so I haven’t given for a while. If they want more donors, they can not treat them as disease carriers, or pay out money, or both.

I’m a bit surprised to learn this restriction is still in place. I thought it had been lifted during the Obama admin. In any case, I’m glad to see it is still in place and I hope it stays in place.
Even the “AIDS” label has fallen out of favor for the left because it carries a “negative connotation” (again, DUH!) There is now a push to label it “advanced HIV infection.”
Doesn’t the FDA realize that politics trumps not only science but public safety? It’s like the Wuhan virus vaccine; it’s only killed a few thousand, which the FDA is apparently okay with.
Jabbed people have a hard time giving blood also.
Why don’t these Dem senators pass a law that blood recipients can sign a waiver to accept blood from gay male donors and that Senators voting for the bill have no choice but are required to accept it if they need blood? I think we will find their virtue signaling has limits when it comes to themselves.
