A full 83 percent of Americans feel the coronavirus pandemic will only be over when the virus mutates to become a “mild illness” or humans build an immunity – which could be never – an AP-NORC poll released Thursday reveals.
The survey was conducted between the 13th-18th of January 2022 by AP-NORC, consisting of 1,161 adults. It found most Americans are still very concerned about coronavirus, with only 15 percent of those polled saying they’ll consider the pandemic over when coronavirus is largely eliminated.

There’s quite a difference between people who feel we have to live with and who fear we have to live with it. It seems like 83% are ready to move on with their lives even if we have to live with covid.
Yes. My doctor included, maybe yours too.
Not jabbed and had to test in September before foot surgery....that’s it for me!!!!!!
The fear is silly. The “Spanish Flu” is still with us, now as just one of the viruses in “seasonal flu”. We, and the virus, have adjusted, into a balance that cannot eradicate the virus but keeps at an “illness only” state for most people most of the time. By NOT killing its hosts all the time, the virus survives.
People are sheep.

That is the deeper problem, more pervasive and persistent than COVID.
We'll just have to wait and see. Omicron is milder compared to Delta but it is so much more contagious. Vaccines are effective against Delta but not with Omicron. This is only a serious problem if you're a high risk group (65+). By the time we've developed herd immunity against Omicron, there will be another variant to emerge.
They have now stopped all mono clonal antibodies treatment, nation wide. They have seized all sources, and with one peer review declared they don’t work, no more of this treatment. Doctors will loose their licenses and hospitals will loose Medicare funding if they try to save a life.
Polls are NOT News.
I just saw an ad for omicron version this morning. Delta was the prevalent version in our area just a few weeks ago.
I started feeling sick last Friday and got a positive COVID 19 test result this past Sunday. Either I have an asymptomatic case with a sinus infection at the same time, or my COVID is mimicking a sinus infection exactly. I had a low grade fever for about a day, an intermittent cough, and nasal congestion. That’s it. No headache, no body aches, no sore throat, no fatigue, no loss of taste, no diarrhea, no difficulty breathing. I’ve been MUCH sicker with the flu.
You’ll never let it be over.
Just so.
Sort of like other flu and cold strains, some worse than others, are forever. We will always live with them until someone discovers a bona fide cure.
Level 4 hazmat suits come after that.
Exactly the symptoms I had the week of Christmas: a sneeze now and then that turned into a sinus infection, and a slight upper respiratory infection.
I didn’t bother with testing. Everyone else around here had the same and did test positive.
Yeah, N95. Where I work they are bringing them in. They already make us wear the blue ones that don’t do anything and now probably are gonna force people to wear the N95’s. The irony is none of these people have probably ever worn one for any length of time, let alone a work day. I have used them when I used to be a painter for drywall and other jobs with a lot of dust. If it is properly fitted it is uncomfortable and unpleasant for any length of time. These are not going to work any better than the other ineffective ones, just make it harder to breathe.
Thankfully, I am retired and don’t have to put up with this nonsense for more than a brief shopping trip.
Oh bladerdash!!
